Astor Pendragon :: One (fin - CB 3/5)

"Astor, over here. There is someone I would like you to meet."

His father's voice rings through the room and he stops, pivoting on his heel, resting his gaze on the man his father stands with, straightening his suit jacket and making his way over to the duo. He glides with an air of nobility, shaking the man's hand as he enters the conversation. 

"Benedict Tucker. Pleasure to finally meet you, son."

He smiles, but it slides across his face like glass. At the dinner table, his father had once joked he could get tipsy off the alcohol that lingered in the Peacekeeper's breath. He nods, keeping his composure before speaking.

"Ah, yes. Representative of the Alder family gun company. Always a pleasure doing business with them."

The man smiles politely, chuckling for a moment before resting his hands on his hips. 

"Well, yes. But that is not why I am here. I understand you are top of your class at combat school, yes?"

His eyes narrow for a moment, taken aback by the statement. After a moment, he nods, listening to the clinking of glasses behind him. 

"Why don't we take a walk? I need some air, and I believe I have an offer you'd like to hear."

Eighteen years of combat school and he can trace every scar and bruise that has lined his skin, the life of a Peacekeeper claiming him as it's own. He breathes, heavy, making his way towards the meeting room. He was told there were others like him, top of their classes, born for the jobs they took. 

He enters with the same nobility that clings to his surname, locking eyes with the three others who greet him, before nodding.

"Astor Pendragon, pleasure to meet you all."

"So, who is ready to end a rebellion?"
