Flora Rowan

Countless of unaffordable hours passed by strenuous weeks, but still Flora refused to cave into defeat. Allowing a stubbornly wild Horse to succumb to slaughter was worse to her then executing an innocent human. “There ya go, Willful.” She coaxes once again, dedicated to taming the Beauty she witnessed being birthed. “You have to let me ride you.” Mother had sorrowfully announced that Willful would be sold untrained if failure continued, which silently concluded to a butchered fate for her. Even though she was raised amongst these fields, separation from her own Mother scarred her with a distrustful trait.

Still gentle bites carry the sugar cubes from Flora’s palm. “If you behave, maybe Mom will allow me keep you since you’re as feral as I am. She’s never let me before…but I have hope.” A lengthy eye contact carries the two of different species, as a deep sigh releases from the Blonde’s lungs. And once again she attempts to reign upon the breathtaking Beast’s back…and for once, she’s accepted.

Overpowering joy consumes her, as she breathes in the heightened position. “Guess I finally won you over with enough sugar, huh?” Hours more of training is provided, and unexplainable satisfaction fuels her more. “Come on, let’s go show Fauna our accomplishments!”

Doesn’t take long to travel to the next farm over, where her dearest human companion resides. “Look who’s finally approved of me!” Flora gleams in rare confidence. The sight of her best friend illuminates her bliss even more so. “Wanna to go over to our secret lake? I want to ride Willful as much as I can, avoid her regressing tomorrow.” Though truthfully being with both Fauna and Willful at their pristine, hidden location would result in Flora’s ultimate happiness.

Fauna Loraine Hayden

Poppy's kiss on her cheek lights up her face, stretching her lips outward with a smile. Two arms then wrap around his waiste as she holds on to him and refuses to let go. "Don't go to work today. Please? It's bad enough that dad's been working longer hours. Now you, too?"

"I know my sweets. Got to do what we can. We're trying to catch up on a few things this month. What would really help is you putting in a few hours over at your friend's place. That or go over to McGee's place. I know she was going to be traveling soon. A house sitter and dog caretaker might be needed?" He suggests and his lips touch the top of her hair and a gentle squeeze later, he releases himself. "Breakfast, little lady. Love you. Chores..."

"Okay. I will. Love you, Poppy." She flashes him a smile when he walks out the door. "Breakfast can wait." A secret lays under the porch in the backyard under the shed that she's hidden for two days, but secretly awaiting the right time to tell her parents.

Sprinting, she dashes out the front door and to the backyard to the shed. Silence emerges and she collectly catches herself on her stomach and peeking inside to see the lumps of fur hiding. A smile appears as the sound of hooves makes themselves known. She jumps up and turns to the intruder, or lack thereof.

"FLORA!" Keeping a secret away from her is hard. "Well, look at you! Very nice work. You've done some major work with her. And of course! Let's go get Crystal so I can ride. See if your horse can keep up?" Fauna wraps her hair up, and takes off running toward Flora's.

Flora Rowan

A prideful grin folds upon Flora’s lips for a permanent stay, an action that solely Fauna could achieve from her. Of course she predicted of the Brunette’s impression on her accomplishment, but viewing it was another reward entirely. And the satisfactions continue as she’s dared to a race to Fauna’s horse, with her merely being on her feet at this moment. “Willful may be new at taming, but she’s quite intelligent.” Flora brags, as she clicks her tongue and steers her Stallion in the direction of the barn.

Light speed carries them to the aging building, as Flora primarily concentrates of remaining on a steady path. Stubborn deviance radiates from Willful, while the Blonde’s collective cooing and grip keeps their track. “Woo now.” She calls for a halt, with a gentle tug upon the Mare’s hair. Confidence lingers across her as Willful obliges rather easily. “Told ya she’s smart. We just had to gain a little trust.” The delight furthers as the Brunette approaches, though her tone gloats only slightly. Anyone else she’d be obnoxiously boasting to, while Fauna ignites a levelheaded side of her.

“I’m thinkin’ Mom might actually let me keep her, since it took so long to tame her…and I doubt she’d remain this way with some ugly Buckaroo.” She shares as she departs from Willful. “Stay Girl.” Is instructed with a soothing comb of Flora’s fingers through her mane. Seconds later she’s enveloping Fauna is a hug as though it’s been weeks, despite the fact they saw one another merely yesterday. “How’re you today? Your Dad & Poppy workin’ a load again today?”

Fauna Loraine Hayden

Wind speeds through her hair. Strands of ebony and chestnut sway with each pounding footstep in front of the horse for only moments before the beast surpasses her. Excitement and laughter ring out as she realizes that the fine beast still runs faster on four hooves than her two feet. By the time she's made it to the farm, Flora's been there for a good minute or two.

Air wisps out of her lips and her hands go to her lap with a bent gait. "I... wasn't denying.... her that. Sheesh. Could have gone slower. Ouch." She reaches for her side, feeling a stitch, however she put up a good front of laughter. "Good job."

Her eyes catch the shift of Flora's weight on the horse as she unmounts him and takes to solid ground for a change. "I wouldn't either. If she's as smart as you say, then she'll do well to listen to you so some old guy don't use her for polo practice or something." She teases and Flora's arms swing around her neck as she does the same, but with her arms around her waiste. A gentle rocking is routined, a kiss upon her cheek to follow.

"I'm doing spectacular, actually!" She williningly tells her though her heart wants to scorn her for keeping a secret from Flora. "Yeah. Dad's been working late a lot this week and Poppy is having to work today instead of being off. Kinda sucks. I just want them home." She mutters and takes her attention over to Crystal's stall.

"Hey girl. Ready?" She enters the stall and reaches a hand out. Nose to palm, the horse reacts with cherished spirit. A glance at Flora is next. "Help me tack her up?"

“That’s what I’m worried about though…if she listens too well, then Mom might definitely want to sell her.” Sighs from Flora’s lips in disappointment, before she quickly devours the sadness in a shake of her head. Plenty of times she’s grown attached to a Horse; begged to keep it, only to be devastated because low finances wouldn’t allow for such. But Willful’s hefty stubbornness crafted a bond unlike any other, a likeness she’s shared with no other Mane. Still she’s adapted to enjoy every loving Animal’s company while they were still present, even if their departure crushed her in the end.

A sorrowful grin continues to decorate her features more so, as Fauna explains her desires for her Parents to be home more. Fortunately for them both, through everything, they always have each other. There’s never been the threat that they’ll have to say goodbye permanently. And more so their luck favors them with a shared trait of remaining optimistic anyways.

Past the aspects seeking to sadden them, they’re determined for another joyful adventure. A request to help prepare Crystal for this journey instantly initiates Flora. “Yeah, I’ll get a saddle and girth while you do the other stuff.” She offers, traveling to the storage to retrieve all of the necessities.

“So why so spectacular?” Is teased, while she waits with the saddle in hand.

"Then I'll buy her, if it comes down to that. I'll work off my debt. I know how much you like the horse already. You're mom would allow me to do that. As much as I try to help out around here with the birthing and tending to the animals. There's no way that she'd get rid of her." Fauna argues and persuade her closest friend. For now, she settles her mind on the matter, willing herself to do whatever it takes if it came down to it. Though, at the moment, what she wants to do is continue getting ready for the trip to the lake.

Flora all but sets it up all together by going to get the needed supplies as Fauna pats the horses nose and brings the bit in front of her. "Alright, Crystal. Lets go for a ride, shall we? Get some fresh air. Fresh secret lake water to quench that thirst for adventure!" She talks in a sweet, low voice - whispering almost. The brindle horse nods up and down, it's muscles shaking as she shifts in her gait.

Soon enough, the bit is put in and the reins are attached. Flora returns with a question and one that's trying to reveal her hidden marvels. She wants to tell her, but if she did, then the surprise would be ruined.

How can she keep secrets from Flora?

"Oh, nothing? Can't I just enjoy a spendid day? Out riding with my bestie?" The words play off oddly as she throws the blanket over Crystal's back and then uses the step ladder to take the saddle up. "Strap it at the bottom, will you? How is your mom today?"

Just as Fauna can always manage, a grateful grin spreads across Flora’s cheeks. An overly generous offer breached from the Brunette, and though she’d refute over guilt of her doing such, it cheers the Blonde’s features quiet a bit anyways. Of course Fauna would offer to buy the horse herself for her, and pay off the debt in work. But even if Flora was convinced past the guilt that’d elite from such, it’s doubtful her Mother would agree to this…doubtful, while still not certain. Either way she internally declares to embrace the optimism for the rest of the day.

Gear is collected, and happiness is questioned to Fauna. Of course Flora maintains an evident reason to her joy, as she always has while in the company of best friend. But the Brunette’s sudden elated energy? She does always appear chipper amongst the Blonde, while today’s even more so.

“Of course.” Flora’s smile elongates to Fauna’s reasoning. “But today you seem even more merry- if that’s even possible.” She chuckles, and begins buckling up Crystal. The straps are tightened to a secure degree, while checked to still be comfortable for the beautiful Horse. And while she’s doing so the daily questions between the two continue.

“She’s doing good. Come on Fauna, you’d know i’d immediately say if my Mom’s in a bad mood.” More giggles ignite from the Blonde. “Let’s get to ridding, already!” She insists, as her usual impatient behavior shines. With everything pristine, she hastily gestures to getting a move on.
