A scrtch of a pencil here. A discreet glance there.

And oh, it still amazed him just how different, yet how so very similar the situation was to home.

Sure, usually when he in the midst of one of his many sketching sessions, it was usually under the shade of a tree or from the comfort of his own bed. And usually when he was sketching, the drawings consisted of scenes of nature or the raw, unmatched beauty of whatever Games highlights happened to be showing that day.

But the fluorescent lighting and the pristine steel flooring of the training center had proven to be its own little refuge in the past few days, complete with little nooks and crannies and the ideal subjects for sketch practice.

To him, it was interesting to observe the subtle differences between the kids from different districts, and how they differed from those back home. From the natural perkiness of the youngest District One to the limping gait of the Hammerfell from Two to the perpetual intoxicated states of more than a few different tributes, each one was unique.

And it fascinated him to no end.

"You know, for a second I thought your last name was O'Hana like my own, but then I remembered District Four isn't home to anyone as attractive as you."

The voice cut through his reverie like a scythe, and he tilted his head to the left, gaze landing on one of the blond-haired blue-eyed boys from Four.

"Aside from Leon Krigel that is, Ripred knows I wouldn't mind getting to know him as well as Gamemaker Kinkade," the boy continued, and he couldn't help but grin at the statement.

One thing was for certain, though. No matter where in Panem they came from, teenagers were teenagers, and basic desires and thoughts were shared.

"Anyway excuse me for coming off strong but I don't believe in formalities. Everything is always so much quicker when we are straight forward, saves time that way," the boy finished, his words prompting a chuckle from within.

"What a coincidence." he responded, eyes twinkling with amusement. "It just so happens that I share your mindset."

He turned so that his body was matching his head in facing the blond boy. "After all, why waste time dancing around words when you can get to the point in the blink of an eye?"

He paused, still grinning as a name rattled in his brain. "Your name is Lightning, correct?" he asked, the question more rhetorical in nature than anything.

Then, the grin transformed into a smirk. "Seems fitting that a hot Career guy like you would possess such a wonderfully unique name."
