Atlas Lumiere.
It was only a name attached with baggage that only some would know. Lumiere was big since the last games. Asha was a monster and Atlas was going to be the same. His bones could feel it. His heart could see it. His brain could compute it. Atlas Lumiere was nothing but bad news and a meathead with nothing more than muscle upon his muscles. Inside his mind, he didn't know why he pissed him off. Something about the Lumiere reminded him of all the people who used to pick on him. Meatheads who only thought about sex and picking on the weak. From what he's heard, Atlas was a player and a career with a big ego. That's all he knew and could judge him upon. Inside Riordan didn't like him. Everything about the man seemed to urge him to punch him in the face, but that wasn't going to happen. A weak and skinny guy like Riordan Einfallen could be snapped in half by Atlas Lumiere. Still, there was always a trick up Riordan's sleeve. He's dealt with bullies, assholes, knife fights, even guns at a point. Numerous of times sent to a hospital to pick up the pieces of Riordan Einfallen that had been shattered.
Standing before the hand to hand fighting felt weird. It wasn't something he wanted to do ever. Hurting someone wasn't something he's done. All of the time, he's been the one hurt by others. He could hold his own in defense, but attacking someone wasn't something he did. The thought of having to injure someone wasn't exactly what he wanted to do, but imagining Atlas Lumiere's face if he so much as punched him would be worth it. After so many years of being beaten up, stabbed, and kicked down, it'd be nice to finally take someone down a peg. A sigh escapes his throat as the instructor is explaining some take downs and other things. Fists flying. Hearts pumping. Lives dying. The feeling of this being life or death finally hits him in the stomach. Images of the fights that the Eckharts had been through. Lucy and the monster known as King Minos flashing in his head. Amerika and the fight against Sol Shim. Jequirity and Saxton fighting Daria and Rodrick. This would be something to keep for his own games, who would take him down. Would it be Atlas Lumiere? Ronnie Cheyne? Anarchy? or someone like Ingran? Salome Izar? It could be anyone within the building.
As the instructor finished, all he could think of was seeing what Atlas Lumiere could do. The brute of a man stood across the room from him. It wasn't exactly like they had been talking, but Riordan had seen him around. It's hard not to notice the careers as they seem to be the ones doing things better than everyone else. Riordan feels his heart thump. Bravery was fake. Selfishness was real. District Six wasn't meant to have victors. Riordan could feel it in his heart. As he stares at Atlas Lumiere, hands clench, a decision is made in his mind. Words come out of his throat as he stands as tall as he can. Slim and nothing like the careers. He needed to know if he could hold his own.
"Lumiere, care for a spar? show me how it's done and all. Though, I doubt you could."
All he knew was that Atlas Lumiere was going to crush him like a bug.
