E L V A I N A .
walking out to the dark, going out
a different path lead by a beating heart
all the people of the town gash their eyes to the ground
of matters to the heart, the night is all you have

A fist collides with her skull and she is suddenly thrust into black oblivion. In that time Elvaina Eckhart becomes half present. For a moment, in her subconscious she wonders if she is falling through the sky or space, but then she realizes that there are no stars. There is only blackness, and she is not falling — she is floating, hovering through a seemingly endless rift.
And then her face slaps against the cold ground and she is dragged by the hair above the surface. Her eyes snap open and light floods her vision. She finds herself where she left off — in the room of the mansion
"Get away from her!" Elvaina screams and a frantic fear grips her by the neck in an iron embrace.
She feels the spear through her stomach before she sees it. The girl before her shoves her with one swift thrust, and she is sent flying off of her feet and into the wall behind her, where a sharp piece of wood was jutting out.
She had imagined death too many times to count. In her head the world would become glass and shatter all at once, just like that. But it was not so sudden — Death came for her slowly.
And like the morning before the reaping, she looks up and there is black water over her head, only this time she feels it pour into her lungs in a cold rush and the light filtering in from above slowly begins to fade.
WIP
this is your heart
can you feel it, can you feel it
pumps through your veins
can you feel it, can you feel it
. . .
("my god, are we gonna be like our parents?"
"not me . . . ever."
"it's unavoidable, it just happens."
"what happens?"
"when you grow up, your heart dies.")
lyrics: "falling" by bastille.
