My eyes adjust to the sun. I closed the door to my house, hoping that nobody saw me leave. My parents didn't want anybody to stare at us while we roam the streets, so we obeyed, well I didn't. I didn't care if people felt pity for me or if they were scared to come near me. I could not care any less than I already do. The cold air of the district washed my face. Goosebumps already littered my arms and legs. I wish I brought a damn jacket! I thought. It was freezing and I was wearing track pants. I might as well be wearing sweatbands while I am at it. The sun was beginning to rise, but darkness still cloaked the sky. Not many people were out at this hour. Around 7 people were still wandering the streets. Doing what? I wouldn't care if they were buying something to cover up a murder. I avoided the town, and the streets and ventured off into the woods. I dare go cross the fence the lines the district. I explored areas around the fence, mostly looking at abandoned buildings. There wasn't that many. I explored the small ones. I wanted to see what was left of rotted buildings.
There wasn't that much in the one's I looked at. Lots of rotten wood and spider webs. I ran into quite a few of those spider webs. It didn't bother me that much since the spiders were not on me. If the spiders were on me, I would be terrified, since I am deathly scared of spiders. I still brushed myself off every time I walked into a spider web. After about an hour of looking through buildings, the sun started to pierce the cloak of darkness. Bits and pieces of sun shined through, illuminating some places. If I had to guess, it would be around 4 to 5 am. I need to make sure nobody finds me, just in case the peacekeepers find something to beat me with. I then ventured out for about 15 more minutes when I felt that something was towering over me. I turned around and there was an abandoned building. The structure was about the size of my house. It was not that tall but was pretty wide. I walked around the house, surveying it. I saw a whole bunch of bugs on the side of the house. No spiders, so thank god. Parts of the house were falling apart. I then walked around it and found the door. The door looked locked, so I might have to kick it down.
I really wanted to know what was inside.I got curious, so I walked toward it. I looked around, hoping to make sure nobody was following me. Coast is clear. I hope so. The door was breaking as well. Bits of the would be rotting and falling off. I then pulled a huge chunk off wood off of the door, and it fell to the floor with a thud. I was hoping nobody heard it. They probably didn't I tried to kick the door down, but it wouldn't budge. "You a stable motherfucking door?" I asked the door. I knew I wouldn't get an answer, so I tried again. On the third kick, the door fell down. BAM! The impact of the door falling made the dust cover my eyes and nose. I coughed. I opened my eyes, looking into the dark void that is this house. I looked back, hoping nobody heard the huge slam of the door. Somebody probably heard, so I have to make this quick.
