paper hearts and drawn tears { the last of eva hope }

The world spins, dancing, jumping, moving. It's like an invisible orchestra is playing for my eyes and they just can't help but tap along to the rhythm. My iris' shift colors from red to green to blue as they had been all day while the colors of the world dance before me to the tune of the orchestra sending me goodbye. The snake slithers up one final time, delivering one final toxic strike. I try to dance to the tune, but I fall to the ground instead. From my dazed mind's eye I can tell I will never get back up again as the snake morphs one last time back into the shape of the girl who has killed me.

Taking my life and turning it upside down, quite literally, the girl walks away as her blow leaves my vision spinning and tumbling and twisting worse that it had been all day.

My vision goes entirely red, and I need to close my eyes only to be greeted by the same blood red pouring everywhere. It was worse than earlier today. I can't see anything. The color pulses gently against my closed eyelids in tune with my slowing heart. And then it stops, and I open my eyes, my body pressed against the ground, void of the armor that had protected me. The world keeps dancing around me, not even ceasing to let me die in peace as I see them around me.

My goodbye.

My sisters hover over me as I stare up at them. Their green eyes glow and pulse in sink with the beating red color that masks most of my vision. I will be completely with them soon enough. Lily leans over and whispers gently in my ear and I can barely hear her faint voice.

"Don't worry."

I'm not worried anymore. I knew this would all happen in due time. Whether it was in this wretched drawn land or back at home in my bed in my old age. I knew I would see them again.

I can hear Paige backing away, calling to me to follow her, but I cannot move. I can feel it. My life being slowly drained from every corner of my body as the ghosts of my sisters haunt me, drawing closer and closer and closer until they arms are intertwined with mine. They will stay with me even in death.

I can hear a flapping noise as the spirit of my bunnerfly comes floating towards me on tattered wings. It lands on my chest gently presses itself on to me.

Then it surrounds my heart, it's soft fur curling around it, suffocating it.

I just wish this had come sooner.

Then I close my eyes for the final time.

Then I breath my last breath.

Then a canon fires.
