Nerves were nowhere to be found when it came to the man’s preparation for his speech. He’d dressed nicely in one of the more expensive suits that he owned, unfortunately covering his muscularly toned body. His hair was combed through nicely, and before he stepped onto the stage, he thought of his daughters, and that they would be watching him, too. Whatever he said needed not only impress the District, but his own family as well. The Career trainer and mayoral candidate then took his place on the stage behind the microphone, a broad smile on his face as he stepped up to it and waved to the gathered audience.
“Your presence here today is much appreciated,” Lucas began. “As you may know, my name is Lucas Prizemni. My goal here is not just to win the mayoral election, but to help the District in the process,” he stated. He paused for a brief moment before continuing with what he was to say next. Having written and memorized his speech ahead of time, he didn’t truly need to put all too much thought into what he was saying at this point, but he still had to give off a good vibe.
“Now, as some of you are likely aware, I do train individuals who wish to prepare themselves for the Hunger Games. This is because I do not believe that the Games should always be taken in a negative light, and even those who don’t take part in them should be readying themselves for life in general as well, both physically and intellectually.” The man took a breath. “In order to help our community grow intellectually, we need to be sure that we are educating our people to their fullest possible potential. Our educators should continue to be doing their best work, no matter how difficult it may be to instruct any particular student.”
“I also strongly believe that, as for those who do not wish to be a part of the Hunger Games and are given the opportunity to live their lives away from them, that they should be respectful of those who do wish to support the Games. Everyone should be allowed to support their own beliefs, and not be forced into something else,” Lucas explained. “In the future, I wish to assist the older and less fortunate citizens of the District as well, helping them with their everyday life and making sure they get by.” The man stood firmly where he was until his speech ended.
“To conclude, I would like to thank you all for your consideration, and allow you to know what it truly means to me to even be considered as the mayor of District One. Thank you.” Mr. Prizemni waved to the crowd once more with a smile, and then proceeded to make his way off of the stage.
