Twila Einfallen
It's quiet like her heart that used to beat out of her heart. A nephew who's body was to be buried next to Theseus Rhodium, Naveen Casovnik, Jequirity Eckhart, and Elettra Eckhart's graves. There was no rest for the wicked. There was no happiness that beats out of the body anymore. There's a spotlight that shines over her as she approaches the people of District Six. Hearts sewn across their shoulders as every person watches her climb on the stage.
There's a breath of air and eyes close as she breathes in every single beating heart that the district contains. Her voice escapes with a serious passion in her eyes.
"I'm not gonna start this off with something professional. You all know who I am. You know I should be mourning for my own nephew, but I won't. This is something he would have told me to go for and so I will go for it. This isn't about me though. This is all about you, District Six. You decide who should lead the people as mayor of this district."
A pause for air and eyes glancing around the crowd.
"I'm not gonna sugar coat it. I'm not going to make any promises that will probably fall through in the end. As most of the mayors have had happened, their campaign promises never truly come to life and I won't make any promises that mine will happen, but I'll be damned if I don't give it my best shot."
A passionate gleam of her eyes as she steps back from the podium for a second. Hearts beating as one.
"I'm tired of names being forgotten from the past. We talk about the ones who have come before who made it close. Wyatt O'Connor. Aesop Bloom. Jequirity Eckhart. Galaxy Clements. There's so many tributes that we can all recall from the top of our heads, but what about the ones that no one remembers? I want to change this. I want to create something that will go towards the community as a remembrance of not just the memorable, but all of the lost ones that many of you can't name. This will be for the people who need something more than just a stone grave in a graveyard."
She watches over the crowd with a fiery passion.
"I want to help all of the people in District Six. From drug users to factory workers to nurses to doctors to the shopkeepers that keep us all alive. We are all important to one another and that needs to be proven by the mayor. I don't want any of you to vote for me, Miss Bloom, Miss Eckhart, or any of the other candidates because of our names. I want you, the citizens of District Six, to vote for the candidate that will help the district in the best way possible. If I were to win, I would hold meetings in the college every week to hear the voices of all the people speak. I'm not gonna promise you I can fix them all, but I can try my best to fix them or ease them for you."
Hearts beat slowly as she smiles for the first time in the entire speech.
There's a united beat the overcomes the cold of District Six.
It's overwhelmingly warm.
Just the way she wants it.
Love over fear.
"This is my own promise to you, District Six. I will be the candidate who listens with a careful ear and the one who puts everything she has into making District Six into something more than a place of problems. I am Twila. Vote for me in the upcoming election to ensure someone who is going to put in as much effort as they can. I am here for you, Six."
