It was a call to arms and an experiment all wrapped in one.
There were those that denounced it as a pipe dream doomed to fail, while others lauded it as the chance to create the most elite Peacekeeper squad seen in twenty years. It was wild, risky, and had the potential to blow up in the faces of any that spearheaded it - but then, what was peacetime for if not for experimentation?
Eventually, the proposal was reached. Using the vast resources at its disposal, the Capitol would open a new Peacekeeping academy on the edge of District Two solely for this experiment, while taking in applications from other academies, late-staged Careers, and those who could not afford Career training alike.
And for those who found they had little to no plans for after their period of reaping eligibility had expired, for those who found the prospect of being among the first of a graduating class in a pristine, brand-new academy enticing, for those who simply didn't want to spend the remainder of their lives in the mines, this was the perfect chance.
Dozens of applications were received, and hundreds of background checks were performed in return. Months passed, the pool shrank in size, until finally, they had settled on nine.
Each possessed great potential regardless of their background. Each were at the optimal age for training - seventeen and eighteen, perfect for the grueling work required yet young enough to be shaped into perfect weapons in the Capitol's arsenal.
And, most importantly, each were inherently different people, from their personalities to their core beings.
And thus, the foundation for the experiment was lain, as did the ultimate question.
Could nine whose differences were clear and obvious mesh to cover each other's weaknesses and form an elite fighting force? Or would these differences interfere with their common goal, causing the unit to fall apart before it could ever be truly formed?
Only time would answer these questions.
Welcome to another lance plot yoooo. This one is fairly straightforward - a peacekeeper academy whose members are centered around the different factors of the alignment chart. As stated, there will be nine spots open for application - unless there ends up being room, I will not be claiming one of these spots for myself, instead creating the academy headmaster. You can apply for up to a total of four different spots; however, each person will ultimately end up getting only one.
For those who may be unsure as to what each archetype may look like, examples can be found in this link here. Note that some alignments, particularly the chaotic and the evil ones, will likely have to adhere to certain boundaries - they were chosen for a reason, after all. And of course, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask yo.
Nowwww, for the signup sheet. I'd prefer it if you created a new character solely for the plot, but if you have an existing one that you feel would work as well, feel free to apply with them as well. Note that it will be somewhat more difficult for an existing character to get accepted over a new one.Username:
