"Hurry up and get dressed because I want to party"
~
"Vestiti in fretta perché ho voglia di far festa"
"Lorenza!" her mother cried as she came running into the room of the Justice Building, embracing her daughter in her arms. The woman was crying profusely as she spoke quickly. "Please, you need to protect yourself. Stay safe. Try as hard as you can. Make it home. I can't lose you, my sweet, sweet girl..." The woman than began to trail off, her tears only increasing as her daughter hugged her in return and stroked her hair gently.
"Mama..." Lorenza began. She was unsure of quite what to say. The exact way of wording things just wasn't coming to her. "Mama, you need to take care of the others. They need you. I promise I'll try to make it home, but you have to stay strong, okay?" Lorenza continued to hug her mother tightly, trying to calm her down, as well as herself. The girl that’d been reaped was holding back tears as well. It wasn’t however, because of being reaped making her scared or anything of the sort. No, it was because it made her mother scared.
”I’ll try to be okay, Za-Za…” her mother stated, her eyes still full of tears. That was when her father came into the room with her little brother at his side, and Mrs. Aita released Lorenza from the hug. The males of the family then took Lorenza into their arms as her mother had done, but with a lot less tears. When the hug happened, it lasted for a few moments before they let her go, and her father looked down to her height to speak to her.
”Lorenza, you are strong. You can make it home, I know you can. You have a reason to come back, and I know you will. You’ll return to us. I have faith in you,” the man told his daughter. She nodded, tears starting to form in her eyes. ”I love you, Lorenza,” he assured her. She gave a weak smile, trying her best not to let the tears fall.
”I love you too, Papa.” Then, she turned to her mother. ”Mama, I love you. Don’t forget that.” Lastly, she looked at Benito. Ben had accidentally killed Angelo, and Lorenza wasn’t sure she’d said these words to him since it happened, even though she still cared deeply for him. She spoke softly. ”Ben, I love you. No matter what, don’t forget that. I’m fighting for all of you. All of us.”
A soft smile crossed Lorenza’s lips, and a single tear streamed down her face, which she didn’t bother to wipe away. If she didn’t make it home, she was sure it would crush her family like it had crushed them, as well as her, when Angelo died. One last time, before Peacekeepers entered the room to escort the family out, Lorenza hugged each of them. She’d miss them more than they’d ever know or possibly understand.
When the Peacekeepers came to take her family away, Za-Za was left alone. Quietly, she sat there, waiting to see if another guest arrived. She knew just who she was waiting for, but she wasn’t sure if she could tell herself for sure that Renaissance would show up. Rena was another loved one. Although she wasn’t family, she was loved in a different way. Lorenza needed the chance to say her goodbyes to her. That was when the door to the room she was in creaked open.
”Rena?” Lorenza asked with hope.
