Teddy Ursa

There's a changing of moons that he can't trust. Light shines through his room and he can't stand it. Sleep doesn't come for the terrified as the whispering words of anxiety tiptoe their way into the mind. Things like death is coming for him and he's not going to make it a day come to his head. A haunting of the truth that Teddy Ursa was. A boy lost in a world of people who knew who they were. That's when he leaves the bed in a pair of sweats and a tank top. An avox holding a plate of a drug that was meant to calm the body to sleep. He didn't trust it. Drugs that District Six made. It wasn't something he recognized and that's why he didn't take it.

Instead he marches along heading nowhere and anywhere. Fingers brushing along walls like they were living and breathing. Insanity or sanity in his eyes, he can feel himself relaxing as walls turn into an open greenhouse of sorts. A garden of sorts that held plants of all sorts, most likely stuff that he wouldn't recognize with the sleep in his eyes and the less focused attention he had. Night time was when everything laid still and resting, except the plants, the moon, and the stars. He doesn't touch a single thing as he knows anything or nothing could be dangerous.

There's a female that's there with him. He only recognizes her for a second as someone who had been in the training center. That's all that he could recall about her. Memory was exactly his strongest thing. Teddy stands in the open, worried that anyone might see him. Anxiety lies in his chest as he knows many of the tributes send fear through their eyes. Intimidation cast upon his body holding him down. It's been too many times since he's spoken first to someone. All he does is approach gently and calmly. A small friendly and sleepy smile upon his face as words seem to leave his throat.

"H-Hi."

The run rose, surely as Teddy Ursa crossed my path. I'd always found comfort in that - my dreams were not mere fantasy, but reality. So when the moon hung high in the sky and he came stumbling into my view, I wasn't surprised. Exactly. But the way he made hi feel new - that shook me to my core.

He greets me with a shield of air, the perfect amount of personal space between humans. Even though I knew he was coming - he was coming from a mile, from a year away - I couldn't suppress my glee. Finally he was here, expectant, hopeful, relaxed. Too beautiful and too precious for this world.

No. Not yet.

He says hi, the only way he knows how, and I return the greeting. While he's sorting out his priorities, I cut through the bullshit. Long fingers twine in his dark curls, big blue bug eyes green his beneath furrowed brows, and I beg him to trust me. "It's funny how hello sounds just like goodbye, don't you think?"

And those words finally spoken, I close the distance between us, kissing Teddy HisNameIsYetMade full on the mouth.

Teddy Ursa

The moon isn't to be trusted, just like the plants that hide in the light of the room. His hands aren't to be trusted like the air that blows through him. All he can do is stare at the pretty blonde woman and realization hits him. There's not a single memory of the time before his accident. Were there other pretty women just like Adelaide Throes? There's nothing to tell him of what he had done in the past, but the present was real. The present was to be trusted by the mind. Pretty eyes meet forgotten minds. Fingers move through his brown locks like they were meant to be touched. A gentle and warm spark flows through him for a moment. A gift of curiosity that sets in his veins like a fire spreading through the forest.

Words barely seem to fall from her lips, but it's his own ears failing him. She begs to be trusted. "It's funny how hello sounds just like goodbye, don't you think?" He's going to reply with a tired soul in his chest, but soon enough he learns what she means. Lips meet his own and he's scared for a moment. Lost in the moment of the memories of the people who threaten him with their eyes. Unspoken threats that lie within his mind and he knows he shouldn't trust her. He shouldn't trust anyone, including himself, but he does something he hasn't done the entire time he's set foot in the capitol. He let's go. He's tired of playing it safe. He's tired of holding on to everything for himself. And he finally lets go.

He pushes his lips into hers, finally letting himself enjoy what little enjoyment he has left in the world. How many more goodbyes could he take? How many more deaths could he live through? There's so many things that he wishes to know and so little that he does know. This moment was to be trusted as he let go. He let go for one moment. A simple kiss turning into something that reminds him of what he was doing. The moon can't be trusted as people do things that they'll regret in the morning, but don't care in the moment. He pulls away for air and he's breathing hard. A hand brushes a blonde lock behind her ear as he speaks.

"I hate saying goodbye."

This time his lips meet hers and he feels like he can let go of everything once again, even if it was just for a night.
