It was just another day at first. Me and my lovely sapphire-ish mother had previously discussed a nice day of working in the shop. But then... father happened. He decided to stop by the family jewelry store instead of to the gold smithery down the street, where he works. I couldn't sneak out.
So that was the day I actually trained. It was odd. Scary almost, not having a suit under my gym clothes. Not as scary as rabbits, but scary nonetheless. But, I tried to make the best of it, and mentally hyped myself up.
Technically, these skills will be helpful if I am to be reaped at some point. Though I doubt that I will be, precautions ARE important. And I really do want to live a long life no matter what. If I'm dead I can't be around jewels. I can't polish them or inspect them or bead them. And those are all the things I love. Well, and my mother. And if I were dead, or even just reaped, my mother would be devastated. Unlike my father. He'd probably cheer as I took the life of another or even as I'd lay dying.
With that dreadful thought in my mind, I'd set off. Off to training, anyway. It was a rather odd experience, walking in there for basically the first time. I hadn't really had any friends. The only real kind words ever being said to me have always been from customers and my mom. So no one there would probably know what to do with me walking in.
As soon as I arrived, I was glad for my unknown status in the gym. The first person I saw didn't exactly seem.... friendly? She was doing some odd pinning and jumping techniques while throwing knives. I don't normally feel tempted to drop my polite demeanor, but this girl was insane.
"What the FUCKING ruby are you doing?!?", I asked incredulously.
