just forget i said anything.........................
.........................paschal j. page
.........................sixteen
.........................male
.........................district six
.........................average, simply average
.........................Average, that's probably the best word that could be used to describe Paschal. Does anything stand out when you look at him? Not particularly. Take another glance. Seriously, nothing stands out. His hair is usually styled, but not because he feels the need to style it for other people. Rather, he takes pride in his appearance. Noting that he has nothing significant in his appearance, he just tries to appear presentable. Perhaps he'll need to attend an event, or a future employer could be looking. The physicality to him means nothing - it is instead the potential that a physical appearance could lead to.
.........................Brown hair. Gray eyes. A more bland appearance couldn't be created. His eyebrows are tilted downwards, often showcasing his face into a frown, more often than not because he's focused on something...well, anything really. This demeanor and intensity of his expression leads others to avoid him, worrying that he's more menacing than he actually is.
.........................Paschal stands at slightly above average height, but one wouldn't notice this at first glance. He's probably hunched over at atable, anyway, his pore-filled nose buried in a book. On the skinny side, Paschal doesn't deviate much from the mean weight of a district six male, either. He doesn't care to eat more than a generic amount, feeling no need to indulge in life's pleasures like sweets or fatty foods. Paschal leads a simplistic life, which more often than not translates into his appearance.
.........................Grays and Browns. Neutrality is what comprises Paschal's wardrobe. He frowns down upon bright colours and extravagant clothing choices. They're not a practical career investment, he would say more often than not. Often adorned in a jacket and a neatly pressed pair of pants, Paschal does nearly everything he can to project confidence and wealth, albeit not necessarily having either of the aforementioned qualities. Someone, someday, will notice him and offer him a job - he's sure of it.
a tryhard, if you will.........................
.........................One would assume by one's appearance that you could figure out how one would act. This case is entirely true for Paschal. Talking to him, if one can even get him to perk up from his studies for a moment would lead a revelation that Paschal is exactly what he looks like from the outside - someone extremely dedicated to his studies. Hard-working to the point of a fault, if you will. No matter the occasion, chances are Paschal will turn down any social activity if there's studying to be done. Even those that extended olive branches of friendship have been turned away by the antisocial boy..........................Though, if one manages to get Paschal talking, be ready to take a seat and listen, especially if it's about anything he's studied. He treats every conversation as one where he must impress the other individual - regardless of the setting. Sitting at home? A quick chat on the street? It doesn't matter to Paschal. There's an opportunity to showcase his intelligence and activity - he is going to take it. However, this often pushes people away from Paschal. He's a terrible listener and tends to dominate when he engages in conversations. His social skills are, to say the least, sub-par, and he's incredibly unobservant to any social cues.
.........................Paschal feels pressure from all sides regarding his life. He pushes himself to learn every ounce of knowledge that he can, his father does the same. Paschal's father, Newt, works in the medicinal industry and hopes for Paschal with his vast amount of knowledge to eventually veer into the field as well. But Paschal hates the medicine industry. He finds them to be controlling and slightly unethical. Even though he doesn't show it, it's clear that Paschal cares about people deep down. This rift between him and his father has caused Paschal to often distrust other males in his life. The two share a fine relationship - nothing that really showcases significance, but Paschal feels his father (and by extension, men) will push him to do that which he doesn't want.
.........................However, it is his mother that had initiated much of the nature of Paschal and his studies. A teacher, Annabelle has a knack for caring for others, which rubbed off on Paschal at a young age. She had raised him to care about his work, but continue to care for others as well. This is why Paschal will vent off lists of facts on end - he feels as though he's helping to spread his info, and help teach in the process.
.........................Antisocial isn't necessarily a bad word to describe Paschal, but it's not the best either. Oblivious, maybe, fits his personality better. He doesn't avoid individuals, he just fails to recognize when they want to build a connection. For someone as smart in his studies, one would assume he'd have some inkling on how to act with others. It completely evades him.
.........................a fine upbringing
.........................A life that has been brought into this world between a teacher and a medicine worker. One would assume it'd be a great addition to a family in District Six. That, it was. Annabelle and Newt Page had birthed a young boy and couldn't have been more ecstatic at the time. Throughout the next two years, they birthed two more children - three children in three years. This gave birth to Jule and Millie Page, Paschal's younger sisters. Though completely different from the two, Paschal would do anything to protect his younger siblings in the home, pushing them out of the way for reasons which would cause no harm - a fly, a breeze. Getting close to Paschal, though hard, provides a protection - even if one doesn't want it in the slightest.
.........................At a young age, Paschal had been introduced to studying through his father and mother. Most children dislike such an activity, but he approached it with a gleeful smile spread across his, nearly always pink, cheeks. He took each book with a grain of salt, having the understanding that not all children had the opportunity to learn as he did. His father pushed medicine on him at a young age. Paschal did not enjoy the studies regarding medicine and told his father, much to Newt's disgrace. He said that someone of his status and intelligence should not degrade his intelligence by doing something as simplistic as teaching. Paschal began to distrust.
.........................Regardless, Paschal lied a seemingly simple life. His family was quiet, Paschal moreso than his younger siblings, who cared less about school and more about socializing with their friends. He never understood why people would care about creating bonds with people, he assumed that at some point everyone would leave or begin to distrust you, as he does to them from the beginning. He's tough to break his outer shell, but Paschal has a caring heart if you manage to snag him at the right time. But when is the right time? Immediately between books or topics, before he manages to get himself caught up in another subject.
.........................The window is brief, but Paschal continues the same cycle forever. Read a book, learn some things, fight with Newt about his dreams, return to his mother to affirm what he believes, and repeat. Yes, there's school and dealing with his siblings in there, but those are the only four things that Paschal even acknowledges anymore. Life is mundane. Life is simple. He's yet to meet anyone worth changing his cycle, whether that be a romantic interest or even a friend, really.
