Marcasite Obsidian
It was another year without being able to be reaped or volunteer to avenge the death of his brother, and all Marcasite felt was regret. He never could have volunteered in the 75th Hunger Games and annihilated the District Ten tributes to satisfy his need for revenge against Andesite's killers, unfortunately, as he was nineteen at the time. Instead, he let other tributes volunteer while he stood back and watched. Maybe he would have been afraid that he'd die before he got the chance to carry out what he wanted to, due to the sheer amount of tributes that were bound to end up in the 75th Games, had he been of an eligible age, but he hated to admit that he had fear, no matter what they fear was about.
Marcasite figured that, as a Career, he shouldn't fear death. He should have just been ready to go in and fight when the 74th Games came along. they had been his last chance. Had Andy still been alive and had been the one in Marc's position, what would he have done? Would he had volunteered the very day that his brother was reaped, and not let him go into the Games at all, or would he have volunteered later on to avenge the one who killed him? Although, it wasn't Andy in this position; it was Marc. He missed every single one of his opportunities to save or avenge his brother, not making a move when he could have done something.
Full of anger and rage, Marcasite barely talked to anyone anymore. To be completely honest, the only person he really seemed to speak with was Andy's adoptive sister, Monday. She had wanted to go into the Games after Andy did, as well, even though it was for a different reason, and had missed her chances just like Marc did. She had plenty of opportunities to volunteer, and didn't take them. Marc was the same way. Although, Marc's want to go into the Games was for revenge. Monday's was to show that she was better than Andy, and wouldn't have died first in what she described as a 'pathetic attempt at fighting'.
Now, despite the fact that Monday and Marcasite have very differing views, they still had the same goal at one point. Perhaps that's why they talk with one another. Marc just hopes that someday in the future, perhaps one of his Obsidian cousins will go into the Games and fight, taking down District Ten like he wanted to. That was a goal he had that he would never be able to reach on his own. For once, Marcasite Olivine Obsidian was admitting that he needed assistance from another individual.
