Odysseus Hammerfell-Alezander
Cracks of thunder echoed through the night sky, flashes of lightning lit up the dark alleys brighter than the sun ever could, and rain fell rapidly from the sky saturating anything and everything possible. Shaggy hair plastered to his face, but Odysseus didn't care. Stomping through puddles, eyes wide, he twisted in every direction. A storm raged on, but not only was this a storm tearing through the sky right now - it was a storm raging within the walls of district two. Families trying to work their way to top while crushing others beneath their feet. Right now Odysseus was nothing more than a bug being used to torment those he loved and cared for.
A heavy heart pranced inside his chest, leaping rapidly begging for an escape. It was impossible. Rumors tore through the walls of the old bar. People whispered about it, and the eighteen year old refused to believe it. Not after what had happened before. Enough has ruined his life, and for the time being, Odysseus was locked back inside the cell in the detention center. Peacekeepers abusing him, punishing him, ruining his life, but the ultimate fall was the words Orion had died. But the whispers grew more and more as he carried on.
It's impossible.
Things had happened, and now he felt alone. Nobody was there to hold his hand, to keep the giant from falling over, yet one breath, one step and the world came crashing down. It's not true. But as he looked at crooked grins spreading across the faces of those gathered around, he knew something was wrong. Something had happened. Finding his brothers wasn't his priority, if anything, Odysseus wanted to stay away from them, and he wanted to keep his friends safe. Being alone was what would save him, and possibly prevent anymore damage from happening.
But he couldn't. He needed help, and the only person he could think of to help him was the only man Odysseus trusted more than himself - his best friend, Derek. Derek was there for him when he needed him the most, but how could he keep him safe? All the giant cared for was making sure nothing else happened. It was a dangerous game he was playing, but now nothing mattered. The line was drawn, and Odysseus was about to cross it.
A heavy sigh left his chest as he pounded against the door.
"Derek, it's me, Odysseus," He paused for a brief moment trying to stop himself from shaking before lowering his voice; "Can you let me in?"
