Name:
Patricia Wheeler
Age:15 16
District:
7
Gender:
female
Appearance:
She
is beautiful, but she doesn't know it, because she doesn't care much
about being good looking. Her long light brown hair has been envied
by many other girls around her for ages. However, she doesn't really
care. Her eyebrows are high arched and dark brown, like her mother's.
Her eyes are greyish blue and rather big. Together with an oval
shaped face all these things make her look rather pretty.
She
is tall and slim. Slim because she doesn't eat much and runs around a
lot. Tall because her father was very tall too. There is also one
thing that spoils her seemingly perfect appearance a little bit: a
blue smudge on her shoulder. A tattoo gone bad. When she was ten
years old, she wanted to have a letter “P” tattoo, because she
thought it would look cool. Unfortunately, something went wrong when
she was trying to make it and she ended up having a medium sized
stain on her body. This thing can't be removed, so she is stuck with
it for the rest of her life. The stain is invisible to most people,
because she tries to hide it under the sleeves of T-shirts, shirts,
jackets, jumpers.
Personality:
Pat
is a tough person. She wasn't always like that, but she is now. She
doesn't know how it happened and it doesn't really matter. She just
reached the point in life one day when she couldn't survive without
the protection of sarcasm, gloomy looks and ironic comments. She
would never want to hurt people's feelings on purpose, but she feels
more comfortable when she doesn't open up to anybody and continues
pushing people away instead.
The
girl is extremely bossy. She likes to order people around because it
makes her feel important. She likes being the one in charge, always
embraces the opportunity to show everybody that she is the most
respectable and responsible one in the house. She knows a lot,
because she reads a lot and never misses lessons at school. She
doesn't like school much, though, because she doesn't have many
friends there. Most of her classmates just try to avoid her because
of her gloominess. They are not sure if they can feel safe around
her.
Pat
has always been interested in technology. She likes to mend things
when they break down and she always regrets that the technology in
their district is not as advanced as in some other districts. She
still enjoys mending what she can whenever she has time to do it.
Maths
has always been her favorite subject, because it is fascinating. She
doesn't like other subjects and especially history, because she
thinks that history is depressing.
Pat
never fights, but she is strong, because she used to help her father
with his work. He was chopping wood and he taught his daughter how to
do that. That's why she has strong muscles. She also knows how to
make fire. She doesn't know why she would need that, but still likes
the fact that she can do something so beautiful and interesting all
by herself. Maybe it can be helpful if she decides to run away and
live in the woods one day.
She
is thinking about running away a lot, but every time she realizes
that she can't leave her siblings behind. She has to stay where her
family is. However, compared to the life in the District, where she
has never had enough food, the woods seem pretty appealing. She would
love to learn to hunt and always have meat for dinner.
History:
Patricia
Wheeler was born in a nice little family of a woodcutter and his
gorgeous wife. From the very first day of her life she felt loved.
She knew that her parents cared a lot about her. When she grew up a
little, she got three new siblings. Their family was a big one, a
loud one and a friendly one. It seemed that nothing bad could
possibly happen to them.
However,
it wasn't true. One day there was a fire in the family's house and
both Pat's parents were gone. They got all the children outside just
in time and tried to run out of the house as well, but the roof
collapsed, burying the two most important people in Pat's life under
itself. The children were taken by different families. And Pat had to
go and live with her aunt – her uncle's wife, whom she didn't even
know. She only knew that the woman's daughter was called Leticia and
that that girl was foolish enough to volunteer for the 75th
Hunger Games. Pat could never understand why anyone at all would
volunteer. The Quell was for volunteers only. This meant that two
innocent lives could be spared and instead seven people's lives were
wasted. She was thinking of this fact as a ridiculous one. Pat would
never ever volunteer, just because she thinks that the Games are
rubbish and that they were invented to make people suffer, like it
wasn't enough suffering in the Games already.
When
Pat finally got to her aunt's house, she didn't say a word and tried
to spend most of her time alone. She obviously didn't care about that
family. And she didn't think they cared about her. They gave her some
small room in the attic near Aileen's room. Aileen is her other
cousin and she thinks that the girl is nothing but a weeping nerd.
Perfect grades, perfect behavior... Yikes. Pat could never stand
people who were trying to be better than everybody else. Another
cousin of hers is in a wheelchair and she thinks that he has to be
just like Aileen. The family looks pretty weird to Pat and she hopes
that one day she will grow up and won't depend on anyone. She will
have a family of her own and her own house. She will be able to see
her siblings more often. She will finally be able to bring her life
back to its normal state.
