Just a couple of weeks ago, he was giving a speech, basically on his knees begging for votes but here is basking in the triumph. Although beneath all this glory a new stem of worry has risen, there have been enemies crafted in his campaign trail and he is not entirely sure if his wife truly supports him. Such a bad time to have a change of career, just as his last living daughter perished but at least it wasn’t all for nothing.
Nerves don’t attack him like the first time, he has performed and despite there not getting a standing ovation, it’s obvious he will do well in this meeting. Soon he will be a veteran in delivering speeches; he just hopes the people who voted for him will continue to like him. District Eight isn’t free of evil, he came face to face with the demons in his campaign, and they are the ones who worry him. Despite the bribes and threats, he will find a way to fight the fear and clean up the District.
Due to the games being underway, he is only able to give his speech inside the justice building; this is his first one since the acceptance speech. There is so much to address, two games days have passed and the luck of Shelby Leviane was not granted to the two new tributes of Eight. Obvious unrest has begun to stir in the District; he knows Eight is used to death but not this prematurely not after having a victor. Obvious fingers point towards the Capitol and well, to them he is now the one with connections with the Capitol in District Eight.
So many bodies crammed into the building eager to have their questions answered, they are his people now, and he needs to deliver what they want to hear.
”I’d like to begin, by addressing the recent events. My condolences go out to the families of McCarthy Balmain and Rhetoric Anadiplosis. I am willing to personally help support the families in their time of grieving as I know exactly what they are going through. But we must pick up ourselves and be confident, we are strong District and we need to prove that to the rest of Panem.”
He can already feel the sweat swarming his body as he delivers the sensitive part of his speech; well it’s over, now onto the boring political stuff.
”As many of you may have already seen, development has begun on updating the appearances of some buildings in the District that were in a state of disrepair, mainly schools. Some of you may say that adding a lick of paint to a school will not improve the standards of education but a child will be more motivated if they are in a clean environment, I am sure many of you will agree with that. This opportunity has also given some jobless the chance to earn some cash and show off their skills, the right people will be employed full time when the project is done for future jobs.
I have also begun appointing members of my council and working closely with me as treasurer, is a fellow mayoral candidate in this campaign that many of you may know. Ashcroft Roosevelt put on a great fight and proved himself to be a worthy man and I am honoured to be working alongside him as my time as mayor. Together we shall start discussing each of my pledges and of course the one you asked about the most, the change in the way wages are implemented across the District. I am certain that this wage change will help heighten the standard of living in the District, because you people will always come first.
Now I know many of you here came to ask questions and now is your chance, I will try get through all of you but there will be more meetings like this in the future.”
