Overseering a Friendly Foe [OS]

It took quite a bit of courage for Miss Aita to leave the safety of her camouflage to approach these other tributes. She felt, however, that she needed to. Wendell was one of them; the only one she knew by name. He'd seen her stealing beer in the training center. Lorenza saw the group of three from a distance. She was careful as she came up to them, hoping they wouldn't attack her.

It didn't take long for the District One girl to notice that Wendell was going what she'd been doing not too long ago. He was trying to catch a Delivery Word. In all honesty, she wanted to offer her help, but she hadn't been that good at it herself. It had taken her multiple tries to capture one of those pesky birds. Finally, however, Lorenza made the decision to go up to him.

"I'm not here to fight. I'm here as a friend," she explained. "An ally."

Although she hated to admit it, Lorenza knew that Wendell didn't need help- she did. Unfortunately, she'd have to admit it if she wanted the help of he and his alliance. He also said he was surprised she was alive. She could say the same to him, but knew it wouldn't go over well. He also asked what she could give to him, and finally she felt as if she had a decent answer.

"I know you don't need my help. I'm asking for your help instead," she explained. "I'm surprised I'm alive, too, by the way. It wasn't easy to live. Had to kill someone to do it."

She paused before speaking again.

"Yeah, I have something for ya, too. I have a camera with some film that you can use some of. I want it back afterward, though. Might heal ya too, as I have some plants you can use." Lorenza had her hands on her hips and Arthur the koala poked his head out of her bag.

"Alright," laughed Lorenza upon hearing Wendell's request. She took out her camera and prepared to take a picture of her new ally. "Get ready for your picture."

When Wendell asked another question, Lorenza answered him. "Other than a rather big fight on day two, not too much. Catching animals. Staying alive. You?" She gave a smirk to the boy. She was glad that he was at least being cooperative and not trying to murder her at the time being. "Don't say nothing," she laughed. "I could hear your mutt fight from the other side of the beach."

Wendell spoke again, saying that the fight he was in was rather underwhelming. Although, judging by his description of the creatures, they sounded quite interesting to her. He mentioned that he 'spilled the guts' of one creature, and Lorenza let out a slight laugh.

"Suppose you would've preferred it be another tribute, or that you had more than one to attack and kill?" Lorenza smirked again. "I'll tell ya, killing another person isn't all they hype it up to be. Most people feel at least a little bit of guilt when they murder someone in cold blood like I did."

That was when Wendell seemed to have noticed Arthur. The koala had poked his head out of her backpack, and seemed to be looking in the boy's direction.

"Oh, that's Arthur. He's a koala," she explained to him. "Anyway, I don't know whether you want to heal yourself up first or take your picture first, but here's some plants, as promised."

Lorenza took her medicinal plants out of her backpack that Arthur was resting in and gave them to Wendell. "Don't waste it. Are we taking your picture now, or what?"

Judging by the words that came from Wendell, he hadn't had the best home life. She couldn't know this for sure, and she wasn't going to try to delve into his mind, but she still could assume. Perhaps his lack of feeling guilt was something that could be taught to another person. Lorenza hated the guilt she felt over killing Basil. She wanted to feel relieved, but was afraid that dying was the only way to forget. Surely it wasn't if Wendell never felt guilty, right?

"Okay, so you don't feel guilt. Teach me. I don't want to feel bad for crushing the girl's skull. I want relief. I don't want to regret it, but I don't want dying to be the only way it leaves me."

Wendell told Lorenza not to touch him, and she didn't mind. She hadn't wanted to make physical contact with anyone in the arena anyway. She just wanted to get back home to her parents, to Benito and to Renaissance. That was the whole reason she tried to form an alliance. She wanted to make it out alive, and needed help with the task. When Wendell expressed that he wanted to eat Arthur, Za-Za was immediately protective of her furry friend. She put her hands in front of him as if guarding the little guy.

"You're not eating Arthur." She stated this sternly, and kept her hands in front of Arthur until Wendell lowered his weapon and changed the subject. He wanted to take a photo, and Lorenza complied.

"Alright. Now, who are you sending this to?"
