Jamie Bowman
Jamie always hated being out on his own. He felt the need to be around other people that he knew, not just strangers. It was comforting to him to have someone like his cousin Caitir with him, but he knew that that couldn't always be the case. Today, there was a request made of him from his parents that he venture to the District Square and make some friends. In general, he had trouble making friends. He wasn't good at approaching people, especially if they were around his age. Younger people made things much easier. He'd be more likely to meld better with a twelve year old than a twenty year old.
Regardless, he followed his parents' request and made his way to the center of the District. There were people bustling about in the busy District that they called home. The boy had always hated crowds, so that aspect of things certainly didn't assist the situation. All he had with him were the clothes he was wearing and his backpack. His backpack contained nothing that most other people would find important, but that he found very much so. Inside were a few small, plush animals. He loved them dearly, and almost never went anywhere without at least one of them by his side. The fact that his birth parents were abusive, often destroying his possessions, made him very attached to the few things he had left that were still in tact.
Eventually, the crowds began to get a bit overwhelming for Jamie. Therefore, he took a seat on a bench in the center of town and watched the people go by. His backpack was on his lap, and it comforted him to know what was inside. As he spotted a younger girl, however, he knew that it would likely be good to do what his parents wanted him to- try to make friends. He got up, put his bag back on his back, and approached the girl.
"Excuse me, do you mind if I talk to you for a little bit? I'm trying to make friends..." The boy trailed off, but hoped for the best.
