Time doesn't matter anymore.
Not when I'm locked away inside the Capitol with a clock ticking down. It's only a matter of time before they throw us all away inside an arena created for death.
Sometimes I wonder if this is what Esme and Bailey felt like the moment they were taken away. Were they afraid or did they see the beauty in this all?
But right now I'm just another robot going through the motions controlled by someone far away.
I've been told to train, that it'll help me along in the games, but what nobody realizes is I stand no chance. Between the careers who've trained for all their lives, and a Lowe who volunteered - I'm just a kid placed on the backburner. I'm the second best of district ten this year. Only after she's dead will anyone try to help me.
So why should I help myself?
A heavy sigh leaves my chest as I lean against a all, arms crossed across my chest. I'm so alone, and it terrifies me more than anything in the world right now, yet I'm a celebrity because of my last name.
But when I look around, many are here; perhaps they're in the same situation as myself.
I doubt I'll ever know.
Maybe I can find someone who's just as lonely as me.
