Your alliance, wandering through the darkened trees, stumble across an abandoned bike, the front wheel still spinning as if it has only recently been abandoned. As you and your alliance creep closer, you notice a string of christmas lights criss crossing between the trees- which is a bit weird since this arena is really spooky and christmas lights are not spooky. As you turn to leave, you notice the christmas lights lighting up one by one- as if beckoning you forward- each tribute has the choice to follow the lights or to turn back.

You follow the flickering Christmas lights, entranced by their beauty in the midnight sun. You follow the string of lights, until they reach a final rickety tree, which they enwrap neatly as if someone was trying to make the dead tree vaguely christmasy. As you reach the tree, all the lights suddenly switch off. If your tribute is carrying a flashlight or carrying anything electrical then they will flicker ominously. Tributes who are carrying cassette players will find their players suddenly start playing music which distorts and grows louder. Looking ahead of you, you see there is a hole in the tree which is throbbing with pink light- as if it is breathing. Your tribute now has the choice to reach inside or turn back.
