Anthem - Day 2

The eternal night’s full moon sinks into the horizon, leaving tributes in a shadowless void. The arena is eerily quiet with the occasional whisper in the wind and childish giggle echoing between trees. There was no hope for morning or evening; tributes would be forced to rely on the moonlight to guide their paths. The next moon phase rising to replace a grandiose glow of the full moon was a new moon, a black circle that continued to bask the tributes in perpetual darkness.

The anthem’s ominous music played, and something about it was different. Somehow, it sounded more unsettling than usual.

As the music faded, the new moon settled. With a small ring of white light surrounding it, there was little illumination to offer the tributes during their next adventure. Beyond this, there was an eternal darkness lying in wait for all but one tribute. Who would be next?
