District Seven
Upon her birth she was named Hazel Iris Woodward. Her given name, Hazel, was after her grandmother on her father's side, Hazel Jasmine Woodward.. The name Hazel came from Hazel trees, as her father comes from a logging family, a common profession in district seven. Her second given name, also called a middle name, was named for her mother's favourite flower, Iris. She has a flower middle name because her mother owns a small flower shop. Many of the business for it comes from her sending flowers to the capital or upper districts. Finally, her surname Woodward is an old English surname meaning "ward of the woods", fitting considering her father's occupation.

Hazel is currently fifteen years of age, on March 7th, she shall turn sixteen. With three years of reapings behind her and three ahead, she's right in the middle of the ages able to be picked for the games.

Hazel was born a female and identifies as female. This means she prefers she/her pronouns.

As previously stated, Hazel was born in raised in district seven, the lumber district. District seven is considered a lower-middle district.

Hazel was born with what would be considered red hair with a brownish tint. Her father having brown hair and her mother having red caused her to have red hair that's slightly dark. Her hair is thick all together, but the strands are a bit thinner than average causing them to be fragile. This mixed with easily tangled hair causes her hair to be pulled out when she tries to brush it. She also gets hair everywhere, shedding frequently. Despite this, she does not actually have any bald spots. Her hair is usually unruly from it tangling easy and getting frizzy when she does brush it. Luckily for her, this flaw is fairly unnoticed in her home district, district seven, because it's a lower-middle district. But people from upper districts or the capitol would likely notice the flaw.

Hazels eyes are quite stereotypical for her hair colour. They're a light shade of green known as "forest green", ironic considering her district. She has trouble seeing thins from a distance meaning she's near-sighted, however she cannot afford glasses. This flaw doesn't disable her too much in day to day life, but if one day she needed to see enemies in the distance, she'd only see blobs of colour. Other than that, her vision problem is only considered a minor concern for her.

Hazels height is about average for her age, 5 feet 5 inches or 165.1 centimeters. However in her weight she's below average. Her mothers flower shop does terribly during the winter from lack of available flora so she doesn't have enough food from the end of November until March or April, depending on when the snow melts and flowers bloom. This causes her to sit at 101 pounds or 46 kilograms. This put her two kilograms or five pounds below the recommended weight for her height and age. This is bad for things such as the games because she would be easy to fight, lack of weight generally means lack of muscle mass. Her light weight also makes her get cold easier so even in the summer months she's cold. This makes her more likely to freeze to death or be unproductive in a life or death situation.

Hazel has always been close to her mother. When she was young and her personality was still in development, this closeness has caused her to have some similar personality traits to her mother, one example being their extroverted tendencies. She enjoys talking to others and being around them in general, especially those she's close to. Closeness is something Hazel craves, everything from just being in the same room as someone to cuddling is something she enjoys. This need for closeness combined with her extrovertedness and general optimism has caused her to be overly trusting of others. She trusts others so much in the past Hazel has been used and manipulated. It's usually over petty school drama, but in something like the Hunger Games that can lead to her doom. Alternatively, this can be good for making alliances in the game which could prolong her life. However, it's more likely that flaw would be the end of her.
Hazel does enjoy learning about different plants that grow across Panem. Her mother taught her about the flowers she sold when Hazel was young and her interest spread from there. When she got older Hazel read books about different plants, not just the ones around her district. Now she knows edible plants, medicinal plants, and poisonous ones. This can be very helpful if she ever gets reaped.
Now that you know one of her favourite things, you should probably know one of her least favourite things, exercise. Yes exercise. Growing up in a place where there's a likely chance you'll die, being unathletic is a fatal flaw, basically the worst you can have. When she was five she found out she had severe asthma and is very prone to asthma attacks. If she had to run for her life, she could very well die from an asthma attack anyway. Her bad lungs made her hate exercise of any kind because of the risks involved. Even having to lift heavy objects can be difficult for her as she lacks muscle mass.

Hazel had a pretty normal life growing up in district seven. Born on March 7th, spring was just beginning and her father was still at work. She wasn't due for another week so her dad didn't bother getting time off yet. He managed to get contacted to witness the birth however. Hazel was always a mama's girl and followed her everyone. Her mother of course loved her, she being an only child. When she was younger Hazel's favourite thing was helping at her mother's flower store. That was back when she was young, naive, and unaware of how little that type of store would make in a poorer district. Then they could feed her year round because she was smaller and needed to eat less.
In middle to late childhood, Hazel began to branch out to more than just her mother. She got closer to her father and made friends with the other children in district seven. This is when she began learning about the uses of different plants. She started making herbal teas for basic ailments such as sore throats. People she considered friends began manipulating her into following their commands. However, this didn't cause her to be any less trusting.

The final chapter to her story is adolescence, aka her teen years. As of right now she's in the middle of her teens and the middle of the years she could be reaped. She hadn't thought too much about the games as a child, her parents wouldn't allow her to watch any of the footage. Now that's all she does. She watches people she knew and grew up with get slaughtered by careers. She frequently has nightmares before reapings and during the games. She always tries to help others around the time of the games and makes calming tea for people who know her family. She's always been certain she'd die if she had to compete.
