Elque Ludus.
She awoke with a deafening feeling of silent fear in her head. First day on a new job. The first job in her life that really could make a difference for her. The sound of her sister's footsteps in the kitchen reached her ears as she made her first attempt to calm down. It wasn't at all unusual for Elque - waking up in her older sibling's apartment which they were sharing. However, she would prefer to be left alone that morning.
Don't be a stupid teenager. Don't be a freaking anxious teenager.
It was hard to see herself as a strong and independent human-being when she was still receiving a small allowance from her parents and staying with her sister. Maybe she could get herself her own place if she earned enough money. Then she could concentrate and calm down before going to work.
"Knock-knock."
A pretty doll-like face attached to a mannequin-like body appeared in the doorway.
"It's your first day on the job, sis. You don't want to be late."
She could never stop playing a precious darling girl and a perfect-in-every-way sister. Elque knew how many people were fooled by that dazzling innocence. All the wicked gossip that danced on her sister's tongue in every dark corner or empty corridors was uncountable. At least, her lovely stylist sibling had enough sense to leave her own family out of it.
"I made you a coffee, Eloquentia. You should get dressed quickly."
Another weird personality trait that her sister possessed - calling everyone by their full name. Elque sighed as her legs left the warmth of the blanket and plunged into a pair of white bunny-shaped slippers. She walked towards her wardrobe like a lunatic, opening it and taking a cute dress. She had picked it right after her interview and didn't regret her choice. After the dress was put on, the hair and makeup done, she stared at her reflection in a small mirror for a moment.
Dollface.
No, she can be more than just that, she has to be. She hadn't been fighting that image of herself for years just to give up. Elque took her bag and walked out of the room, heading into the street and further into the unknown. The buzzing of the city was distant and the brightness of the people's outfits faded away like a huge blur in her mind as Elque moved on to her final goal, to her destiny which lied within the ALL-CAPS workspace.
Don't be a coward. Don't be a stupid teenage coward.
But I am still a teenager.
You are not like any other teenager and you must prove it.

She had been counting days, hours, minutes until this second. But when it finally came, she wasn't ready. Walking through the security with her new ID card, taking a right turn, then a left turn. It all didn't feel real. Like a tribute in a Cornucopia, she felt her heart filling with disbelief when the countdown inside her had ended and that long-awaited moment smashed all her senses.
Get yourself together or you'll be late on your first day.
Elque shook off the disturbing thoughts and looked around. She obviously got lost while trying to find her boss's office. There were a few doors nearby, one of which seemed to lead to a ladies bathroom. Maybe if there was somebody in there they could show her the way.
Turning the door handle, she walked in quietly. Nobody was to be seen in there, except for one young woman.
"Excuse me, miss?... Could you please tell me where the Games analysts work?"
