Tidestone
The sunlight barely breaches the room where Eva sits shrouded in simple silence. Down the hall the first footsteps of trainers fall across the clean cut floors of tile. In her fingers a metal piece of chess cools her palms palms at its embrace. Within its widened mirror of reality Eva stares at the small shape of herself. Upon first glance just an average girl, slightly skinny but nothing beyond the everyday ordinary. Digger deeper the signs of her endless struggle seen only by the eyes of someone who shares the same fate. It pulls a sigh from the sanctuary of her lips and she sets it down a top a nearby table with its fellow comrades.
Beyond the surrounding space sounds of training begin to trickle through the doorway bringing Eva reluctantly to her feet. Her hands hold themselves softly pressed together as she ventures through the quiet of her creation. Inside the center of her being sits a calm sea swirling only by the tiniest of tides. Beyond the levels of her skin shows a face of compete certainty as she knows where her feet are leading her.
Only several shapes fill the white walls of the training center this early into the day, but her scanning sight stops of the figure of the one she seeks. As the distance between them closes the thundering beat of her heart begins to quicken in tune with every step. Her senses surge for stopping but she refuses to fall for their weakness. That is the reason after all that she dares to spend time encountering the boy of District Two.
Upon reaching his side at some station she usually avoids she calmly composes herself as she waits to catch his eye. When first their gazes lock Eva feels herself freeze, feels her primal instincts screaming flight instead of fight. She remains standing where she is. A voice much stabler than her now surging internal sea speaks out to the looming boy before her.
"I want you to teach me, if you can." She pauses only momentarily before explaining further her request. "How to be strong, to control fear." She waits again watching him take in her words before slightly aiming her gaze in another direction. "I don't have much to offer in exchange, but I'm sure we can come to some kind of deal?"
