Shadows line the walls of the hall that he steps through as he approaches another turn. Eyes following him with every step or movement he makes. No longer in District Ten anymore, his eyes blink closed for a moment before he continues pushing forward away from the training area. Too many wandering eyes that make him feel exposed. The world's caving in with a force that no person could describe. The open blue sky makes him feel like he's strong enough to stand. Homesickness takes his stomach as he holds himself up against a wall. Mind jumbled in his own head as the pounding of a minor headache that aches for his longing to be home. No answers upon his tongue that eases his own chest as he thumbs the wall for a moment before pushing off of it and moving again.
Movement from the corner of his eye appears, but disappears just as fast. Swearing in his own mind as he swore that a small child had been following him for a moment. The world's spinning on a track of fucked up things like the two twelve year olds who were going to be thrown in some place with people who are bigger and faster than them. All he could see was his little brothers taking his place and being forced in a place like this. A place where dreams go to die. Shadows of the luminescent lights follow him around another corner as the movement pops back up again.
The girl from Eight is following him, hiding behind some sort of fixture on the wall that he didn't pay too much attention to. Too young to know what she's going into. Too little to late to save a young girl like her. All he can do is continue walking and ignore her, but the sound of footsteps following him triggers a memory of Jed following him around, pretending to be him. Memories of how Jed looked up to him since they had been able to walk comes crashing in his mind with a flash of pain in his chest. A small smile pulls at his lips, until it falls again.
He rounds the corner, holding to the edge of the corner, waiting for the footsteps of a young girl. Memories of how he used to scare his siblings before he was too old coming in his mind again. Footsteps sound like the hooves of the cattle in his ear until he knows she's right there. Jumping from the corner with a loud thud that echoes along the white walls of nothingness, as his voice echoes in the air.
"Little Lady! What do you think you're doing!"
