Night came and Bella was worried about two things, one, the fact that her skin had started turning blue, and the fact that she had nowhere to go that would keep her warm. What she couldn’t understand was why it was so hard to find firewood in a place like this, but alas, she had to deal with it. Nothing here was going to make sense, or be fair for that matter. Bella was working against forces that she would never fully understand, and try as she might, all she could do was try to survive.
After all, surviving was the only thing that she knew she could do.
Once Bella felt tired enough, she decided to build another igloo out of whatever she could find and rest for the night. Now is the time she wished she stayed in the blood bath and grabbed more items, but she wasn’t going complain. One thing that she always remembered her mother telling her when she was alive was to never complain about the situation she was in. Be grateful with what she had, and work with what you have. Those words couldn’t ring any truer then now. Bella took a deep breath and clutched her bag tight as she huddled into her igloo for whatever warmth she thought she could find.
From what felt like hours later, she was alarmed by a loud sound coming out of the sky. She thought it was another cannon, but then she looked up at the sky to see a projection of what they called an anthem. She watched as the people who had fallen appeared in the sky, as to say that they were now angels in some way. Bella would never buy that, but she knew that others might have eaten that shit up. Bella watched as each face passed, and a little bit of her soul left along with it.
She wondered what their families might have been thinking? She wondered if any of them had any families back home? Of course they did. They all had to have had some sort to watch over them. Sure, they might have not been related by blood, but there was more to family than blood. Bella didn’t have much left, but she did have people back home that were rooting for her to come home, and she was going to be damned if she didn’t try to deliver on that promise.
However, watching the crimson spilled all over the ground was not a comforting image for her to think about. As she remembered each face, she saw them all, dying, over and over again. The blood on the snow looked like someone mashed red berries into the ground and then spread them on the snow daintily. All she could think about was how much it hurt to die. How much it sucked to be struck down before you could even try to fight back. How much you meant to someone before and after you were gone.
Bella hoped that someone cared enough to make sure that she went out gracefully.
She rose in the morning, surprised how well her body must have been adapting to the cold. She didn’t feel too bad, which shocked her because she didn’t really have the right equipment to be resting in the snow. She moved out of her igloo to see the light shine down on her skin. She had to take a double take though, seeing as her skin had looked a dark blue instead of the chocolate skin that she loved so much. She wanted to scream, but then she thought about it. The bottle of fucking bubble bath. She sighed, wanting to scream and yell about her predicament, but there was nothing she could do right now. She needed to get to somewhere safe so she could hide. The blue was something that she was just going to have to manage. Maybe she could use it for her advantage. Scaring the tributes shitless would certainly help Bella in the long run. Hell, she could probably blend into her surroundings a bit better. She just didn’t know, and she wasn’t going to think about it much.
She had to keep going after all, and she could see the Meadow from not that far. She had to move, or she would definitely be the next victim of the 78th hunger games.
She sat down on a log for a moment, wondering how long she had been traveling for. If she had to guess, she wouldn’t be able too, seeing as there was no way to really tell time here. She sighed, wiping away any ice sweat that might have formed on her forehead. The blue skin still sending her for a loop every time she thought about it. She must have looked ridiculous. She knew better than to trust something that was just sitting there, but in the end, she got to get an extra portion of water, and maybe that would get her somewhere.
She didn’t know.
She didn’t care.
Her spear was in her hand at this point, and she heard rustling from one of the bushes that alarmed her in a way that she was prepared to do anything to protect herself. She watched as an animal appeared out of the bushes and started to charge at her at full speed. Bella was confused for a moment, but she realized that maybe this thing was sent to kill her.
Great.
Just what she fucking needed.
To worry about animals killing her now.
She held out her spear and looked at it while it tried to move around quickly and spaciously.
However, one thing this little creature didn’t know what that Bella was quick on her toes, and she was used to things that moved fast. After all, she had to deal with eight of them on a regular basis when she was home.
She took a deep breath and then she tried to stab it.
Hopefully in the heart.I lit a fire with the love you left behind
and it burned wild, and crept up the mountain side
followed your ashes into outspace
I cant look out the window, and I cant look at this place.
