Lost in the woods of bending trees and careful eyes.
Prey is what he was becoming slowly by the minute. Alone and terrified for Cade and Maisie wherever they were. Hope was being lost in the idea that they left him on his lonesome, but he couldn't think of a reason to do that besides not wanting to watch him die. There's no blame towards them if that's the case, but his heart breaks at the thought. The words that he told Cade, were they enough to ease his soul. The comfort of being with him, was it enough or did he make them leave? He wouldn't know unless he found them. The guilt in his chest rises as he thinks about them.
There's a sound that makes him grip his weapon tighter. The thing flies with the sound of wings bracing the wind. Tiredness in it's eyes, Caine chooses to ignore it, but his curiosity watches it carefully. Animals were always something that he enjoyed to see. Abel was one of his favorite study subjects in reactions to things. All of them had a heart and emotions that come across and Caine could see the exhaustion in the creature. A frown pulls on his face as he goes to try and catch the creature. Moving slowly he tries to catch the bird.
Only time would tell he got the bird as he approaches somewhere else. The smell of smoke rising to his nose as he crunches through the snow thinking it's his allies. Excitement in his chest as he thinks they're still alive somewhere. No cannons have gone off. A pleasant silence that had been needed after days spent of them going off. The snow rises momentarily and he notices the bump up in it. Curious eyes glance towards it as he cautiously steps towards the thing. Cade and Maisie had never built something like that, so his instinct tells him to be careful of whatever it is.
Eyes meet another as there's some blue on the person's skin. Features blend into a familiar sight as he gasps at Bella Rose huddled by a fire and in an open igloo. Snow packed walls and tired eyes, she's been through hell just from the wounds that he could catch barely. Words seem to fall from his lips, even though he knows that she could be out to kill him. The games changed people, but he's holding his guard only slightly at her sight. The blue skin worries him for a moment. Mitchell had blue skin, so Bella could have been dead, but still roaming as an undead creature.
"Bella! You're still alive aren't ya?"
