in this hopeless fountain kingdom (D7 Halsey Plot)

In the realms of district seven, while the children are working hard to collect money for meager means. Some of the families are more well off than others. The Angelus family is the epitome of wealth in a lower district. Their children don’t ever have to worry about starving because their parents worked hard to acquire their fortune. Both of them own their own wood mills, and with a little grit and charm, they were able to secure tons of capitol connections that made their business boom. They had many kids, most of them in succession of another. However, there was more to the family then just that. They were elitists who insist that their children follow in their footsteps. However, after a couple forced attempts, one of the children stepped up, promising to take over their legacy when it was needed.
On the opposite end of the district, we have the Aureum Family, a poor but functional family that is full of love and hope. There are days where this family barely makes enough to stay afloat, but with the help of other people around town, they are able to make ends meet where they need too. The parents actually dream bigger than they should. Hoping that one day one of their children will be able to find fortune. Sometimes they save up their money just so they can be able to attend functions in the district that most poor people can’t. Of course, they are only able too because they have an inside connection at most of the benefits. The parents want nothing more than their children to marry into wealth, not because they are greedy, but because they want their children to have a better chance at life.
This is just a running plot that does not have to be followed at all. Its based off the album hopeless fountain kingdom by one Ashley Frangipane (my goddess Halsey). However for the characters, I have some interesting things in mind.
I will include some Canons to use, as I will pick the song and write a tiny blurb about them.
Pick a song by Halsey that you really enjoy and use it to inspire the character. In the application, I want you to tell me the song you want to use and then write me a small 1-2 paragraph blurb about the character using that song. So for example, if I choose Bad at Love, I would probably write a character that is a player, but also wears there heart on their sleeves.
I really want to see complexity in the characters. I do want to keep the families as even as possible, so if I see a lot of people for one part of the two families, I will close one and try to balance out the other.
I am going to include small guide lines for the children of this plot, which there will be a lot of them. You may make any one of the family members, including parents. If you would like parameters for them, please let me know, but I want to focus on the children.
Most of them will be reapable.
Jupiter Angelus, 19, The “Young God” Character. Male
The oldest of five and cocky as ever. He missed his chance at getting reaped and he couldn’t have been more excited about it. He doesn’t know how to act rationally in public, sometimes walking around the district like he might own the place. He can be kind when he wants something from someone, but most of the time, he thinks of people as stepping stones to get where he wants to be. He is happily following in his parents footsteps and is careless when it comes to the money that he does get from his family. He is the hot headed one of the family and strives to prove people that his way of thinking is the best way of thinking. He walks the earth like he is a god when he is actually scared of his own shadow.
Hercules Angelus, 18, The “Empty Gold” Character. Male. Played by Ryan
He sees through the crap of the family. He doesn’t let them tell him what he needs to do and while he does not mind being well off, he knows that his family would be nothing without their money. He sees the beauty in a tragic world and wonders how it works the way it does. He is the underdog, thought of as an after thought cause he tends to blend in with the scenery sometimes. He is the most subservient of his family, but also has no plans on going on to run the family business. He just wants to live his life.
Proserpina Angelus, 16, The “New Americana” Character. Female
The rowdy one of the bunch. She likes to indulge in the finer things of the district and tries to be innovative in ways that people wouldn’t think of. She is a go getter, someone who can think of something on the fly because she doesn’t need time to plan anything. No. She isnt afraid of repercussions because she knows that nothing bad will happen to her. She is a twin, but she secretly hates it. She can be rigid, but she does have a sweet side to certain people in her family because she knows that she needs to play nice if she is going to stay in the family business. She wants nothing more than to be successful.
Diana Angelus, 16, The “Roman Holiday” Character. Female
The epitome of a free spirit. She lives to do what she wants, when she wants. She is not held down by the importance of her family and the business they run. If she wants something, she will go do it, and she doesn’t care what her family says about it. She is running from anxiety and will never tell anyone, but she is scared about being reaped. Like she has actually has nightmares about it. She is not afraid to do things that others wouldn’t do and she is quite different from her twin. She isnt worried about schedules and structures. She kind of just does things at her own will. She doesn’t care about the family business either.
Helios Angelus, 14, The “Lie” Character. Male
The youngest of the group and the most likely to get his way out of anything. He manipulates almost any situation to make it seem like it isnt his fault. He is quick on his toes and can think of things that no one would usually think of because he isnt stuck on the little things in life. He is precocious and is not afraid to be the bad guy. He takes after his father the most, and sometimes he wishes his father would just give him the business alone because he feels like he can hold to world on his shoulder.
Hera Aureum, 18, The “Strangers” Character. Female
Shes loud, proud and definitely and firecracker. She knows that she comes from nothing but she still tries to live a rich life. She thinks of herself as the district darling, who cant do any wrong because she is so eloquent even though her family lacks the wealth to show that. She isn’t afraid of anything and will happily take on a challenge, so that is why she is all for her mother trying to get her noticed by the Angelus’s. She is willing to put her happiness aside if it is going to provide for them in the future and she wants nothing but her family to be happy. She is willing to sacrifice so much for the greater good, but do it with a smile on her face.
Hermes Aureum, 17, The “Colors” Character. Male
He has his mind in the clouds and doesn’t think twice about it. He wants nothing from anyone because he likes to think of himself as self sufficient. He doesn’t take handouts and he doesn’t let people think of him as someone who is weak. He is well known around the district as the boy with many tristes, because he is not above using his looks to his advantage. However, things did get complicated for a bit when he found himself in an actual relationship with an older man. He knows that people talk about him, but that doesn’t stop him from living his life.
Hephaestus Aureum, 17, The “Devil In Me” Character. Male
He hates the fact that he cannot support himself, but he makes due, making money by working in the wood mills with his brother Hermes. He however, doesn’t believe that he will ever be loved. While he might have the same looks as his brother, he is self conscious about his body and who he is as a person. He wishes he could be a little more gregarious when it came to his interactions with people, but he feels comfortable with where he is. He has a bit of temper, especially when it comes to people not being fair to him. He lets himself get pushed around and then gets mad about it. A walking contradiction.
Aphrodite Aureum, 15, The “Sorry” Character. Female
A flowerchild who wished to be born in a family that didn’t have to struggle. She let her parents know this once and she broke their hearts because of it. She at first didn’t care, because she has bullets in her mouth and is not afraid to let someone have it when she is mad. She’ll fire a warning shot before she goes off because her mother taught her to have patience with people. However, her mother told her that there were things she couldn’t do because they couldn’t afford it, and that didn’t sit well. She called out her oldest sister, saying that if they didn’t waste all their money on her, they would have some for the other children.
Dionysus Aureum, 13, The “Eyes Closed” Character Male.
Hes blind to almost anything that he sees into the world. Not physically, just emotionally. He cant grasp the ill will in the world because he is young, and while he knows what the games are, he will never understand them because he lives in an ignorant world where he is his own populace. He is the definition of a party of one, and he can valiantly say that he does not care about it.
Please note that these are just guidelines and they should be taken with a grain of salt. If you have an idea for a character that might not fit the song that I chose feel free to explain why the song you chose might be a better fit!
Cousins to the family are completely acceptable and should be based off Halsey songs as well! However, these characters will be apart of the original character application. You may base a character off I song that I have already named in this part when I open it up.
