We filled up the paradise and now it's fading away.

Sweet blossoms torn from my grip, a piece of love taken away with it too. All this theft of my life and I have barely turned thirteen. There are still piles of petals on his bedroom floor, nobody has dared to step in his room in case we stand on his shadow. Now this is what grief feels like, too young to feel it for mother but now I have the experience, it is hard to banish mom and Finley from my mind.

What’s next?

It is a carry-on world and now I have joined the crowds with getting society moving. Now all I can do is sweep the floors of the factories. I get a guided tour of the world at the end of my broom, it is an achievement when I have two buckets filled with dust, just from the main floor. No matter the labour, there is always something to be proud of; the neatly lined up cleaned dishes in the kitchen and the crisply ironed shirts laid out for father. It is a task I must carry, mother will be smiling at the dedication.

So much of the littlest things in life to call my own. Jealously can enrages itself inside of me when I see those with treasures lining their pockets and brother’s still at their sides. Being grateful, it must be lesson that I teach myself as there is no master left in our household, he got taken away by the boy from District Seven; guess I will just have to take the dirty road to triumph this life

My first reaping and I was worried but now any recollection of that moment and I am numb. This is a carry-on world and if the tsunami catches me, there is no way of swimming from the current.
