Life wasn’t easy here in seven, especially after the end of the games so fast approaching. If there was one thing that was becoming apparent, it was the idea that everything was starting to go back to the way things used to be.
And for Lustor, that meant that working longer days to disguise the fact that he had nothing better to do at the moment.
Lustor was always the lost soul in most situations, afraid to do anything because at the end of the day, he was afraid of everything. A boy who did not understand the gravity of his choices in anything he did.
Most of his days were spent in the forest, writing about something that he probably shouldn’t have been writing about. Dhruva had a weird way of inspiring the soft boy.
Most of the time, he would sit there and listen to his twin, waiting for anything to use. Sometimes his twin told him the more phantasmal things, secrets that no human should ever know. And sometimes, they were so intimate that Lustor’s face would flush in embarrassment.
Crimson was fearless, unapologetic, and free.
Lustor was calm, reserved, and poetic.
They balanced each other out, not because they had too, but because as twins, they felt like they didn’t need to discuss most things.
There were days where they would get lost in the woods of seven, trying to figure out the meaning to their lives.
And sometimes, Dhruva would take over Crimson and she would tell Lustor what she knew. However, it was all spoken in tongues. Nothing was ever straight forward when it came to Dhruva, and that was something that they both had come to accept. She didn’t speak in normality, but in complexities that they both could not comprehend right away.
And so right now, Lustor was by himself, deep in a hidden forest that he liked to think that only he knew about.
His hands were combing over a notebook full of writing about Dhruva and the words that she had to offer to the two children.
When people asked him why he kept such an item, he simply told them that they wouldn’t understand.
After all, how do you explain that your sister was possessed by a greater entity that tortured her more than actually helped her?
It was one of his legitimate fears lately. Losing Crimson because of something that Dhruva had done.
Crimson was reckless because of Dhruva, and Dhruva didn’t give a fuck.
His eyes were scanning the book, looking for anything that might have given a clue to the next big event to happen here in seven.
Sometimes Dhruva was kind and let them both in on secrets that they didn’t even think were possible.
She planted seeds into their heads and turned them into martyrs until it was too late. And while most people didn’t pay attention to them, they both knew that one day, they would heed their pleas with them.
They would listen to them when it was too late, and then the world would end.
A couple lines from Dhruva always seemed to stump Lustor, usually causing him to have to write each sentence on a page and then extract each meaning out, word by word until he had a tangle of ideas that made no sense.
After all, Dhruva never made complete sense in times where she didn’t want to reveal anything.
That was something that both he and his twin had come to learn over the years.
Lustor sighed, feeling the presence of someone foreign watching him from the distance. However, he didn’t move a muscle from where he was. Over the years, he read many things from Dhruva stating that they would die in the most unexpected ways, and that turned into something that Lustor could accept.
So he simply turned the page, waiting for whoever was spying on him to make their appearance.
