"So if you've got something to prove,
You against me, me against you."
To be entirely honest, neither the death of Zagreus nor the death of C’rizz have caused me any pain. Well, that is, aside from when my niece, Destriianatos, decided to break my nose over my lack of emotion following Zagreus’s passing. Regardless, there has been no emotional pain included with it all. Sure, Zagreus was my son and C’rizz was my nephew, but they both had plenty of problems with them, and I, therefore, was not concerned about losing them from the world of the living. Besides, C’rizz didn’t seem to fear death at all, so why should the fact that he’s dead now bother me? It certainly seemed to be what he was asking for, especially when he let his own District partner assist in the killing of him. A little girl was so close to delivering the final blow on him. Sure, the boy from Eleven did it in the end, but, in my opinion, it’s still just as pathetic to be killed by an Izar, considering that their family is prone to dying themselves.
Now it’s likely that the world will begin to think that the Moon family is prone to dying. Perhaps they’re not wrong, but that doesn’t mean that I have any desire to comment on the topic if and when I am asked about it. I only like to talk about Zagreus and C’rizz on my own terms. Anyone who brings them up in conversation is likely to be snapped at by me, as I’m not particularly fond of using them as a conversational topic. As I’ve told my wife, Charlotte, I don’t care if it’s the mayor talking to me. I don’t care how important the person is that’s trying to talk to me about them, unless it’s President Snow himself. Those that decide to talk to me about Zagreus and C’rizz better not be expecting a positive response.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can exactly do to prevent people from coming and deciding they want to talk to me about less favorable topics. I just had to try my best to avoid it or change the topic when possible. I wanted to make a good impression on people. The best way for me to do this, however, was to talk about other things, such as the important problems we have going on in Panem. Sometimes, to make a good impression on people, I’ll go out of my way to speak to them. This isn’t entirely common, but when it’s someone like the mayor’s wife like it was today, I felt that it would be a good way to make myself noticed in a more positive light.
When I saw her, I recognized her. Mrs. Abandon Hope had an interesting sort of humor to her name, but I surely wouldn’t be mentioning that. At least, not to her, and, most likely, not even out loud to anyone. I doubted she’d get a laugh out of it if I mentioned it, as I was sure she’d heard it before. I spoke to her when I was in the appropriate range to start conversation.
”Mrs. Hope, a pleasure to meet you,” I said to her with a polite smile stretched across my lips. ”My name’s Lorenzo Moon,” I continued. I extended my hand out for a handshake, hoping that she’d take it in response.
