Stitch was moved by the fact that so many people were trying to learn.
Everyone seemed to be at odds with each other, mostly because that was all they knew how to do.
Be at odds with each other.
No one could be kind, or optimistic in a place like the capitol, because at the end of the day, they were all about to go out and kill each other.
One by one, until only one of them were left standing.
So that inspired Stitch to learn everything that he could while he was here.
Not because he had a choice in the matter, or because he was being forced, but because at the end of the day, his survival was what he yearned for.
His freedom is what he clung too.
And as much as he wanted to find a way to run away from it all, he was willing to fight for it.
To kill for it.
To do anything possible to make sure that his freedom was attained.
But right now his focus was on the fire that was before him.
He watched as people were working diligently on the piles of wood that they had gathered from god knows where.
Stitch pulled together twine and wood, taking two rocks and smacking them together to create something out of nothing.
And before he knew it, flames erupted, creating something dangerously beautiful.
He waited for a minute, watching the fire grow before a trainer came over and put it out.
He told him to do it again, and so Stitch collected wood and twine as he saw it and started the process, over and over and over again.
It was therapeutic. Almost calming, watching the embers grow into something more than what it was.
It felt poetic that way. A phoenix rising from the ashes.
Again and again and again.
A truly beautiful sight.[dars]
