I Dream You're Still Here {Evander/Neith}

The Capitol was where I was born and abused raised. I lived in the hell hole Capitol for years, as an adult. My parents even were under the impression that they were doing me a kindness by arranging a marriage for me with a horrendous man family friend. I didn't love the man they paired me with, however, as I had an infatuation with another individual. The man I truly loved went by the name of Evander, but nowadays, I don't even know what ever has become of him. We fled from hell ran away together, away from the place we hated Capitol, so that we could be together, but it didn't last long. Causing heartbreak to both of us, we were found by the Capitol and abducted captured, only to be torn away from each other separated from one another and tuned into slaves avoxes. We were told that it was highly unlikely that we'd ever see one another again, as we were taken by different abusive Capitol bitches 'owners'.

Since we had those few weeks of bliss that we were together and free, though, I don't regret what we did. Sure, we showed up the Capitol broke the law and ran away. Sure, we were tortured punished for it, but I still don't regret my decision to do so. I just wish that it could have lasted forever, rather than just that short amount of time. At least, now, I'm not a captive trapped in an arranged marriage, set to marry an asshole a man I didn't love, instead of the one I'm truly head over heels for. Evander and I may not be together at the moment, physically, but I dream that he's still here by my side, because, in my heart and my mind, he is always with me.

The woman who abuses 'owns' me at a this point in my life hates avoxes and truly just keeps them for two reasons, the first of them being because she's lazy as fuck as can be and hates doing anything that she doesn't have to do herself. The second reason is because she wants to keep a high social status. She's wealthy and rotten respected, and doesn't want people to forget what a bitch she is her importance. Personally, I wish she'd just show the world what a horrendously abusive bitch horrible person she really is.

For some morons people in hell the Capitol, bringing their slaves avoxes with them to big events, such as parties, is a social must. It's a symbol of high status for them, although I've never quite understood why. I lived in the Capitol for years, and I didn't even understand it then, wondering why people would turn people who'd apparently committed crimes into tortured, tongueless slaves avoxes against their will. The bitch who had ownership of me is no exception to showing off her avox slaves, which are a young girl and myself. This time, since the party that was to be held would be in her home, we were told to be present, rather than hidden away in the background as she usually wanted us to be. We'd be serving food and drinks, among other things, and doing whatever the fuck she wanted us to do what we're told.

When the party was to begin, I was to hold the door for guests to come in. Many of them entered with a slave an avox or two trailing behind them. Whenever I saw other avoxes, we'd look at one another with this same sort-of look that just meant 'I understand your pain' or 'get me the hell out of this shitty life'. Unfortunately, there was no way to help one another get out of what we were going through. We'd be the Capitolites' servants for the rest of our living days, and we couldn't change that, no matter how cruel and repulsively vile terrible they were to us. No one would listen to what we said even if we were capable of talking, as they just didn't give a shit care about us whatsoever.

While people filed into the house, I had the same desperate wish hopeful thought that I always did when I knew that other avoxes aside from the young girl and I would be present. I just hoped that I'd see Evander, even if it was only for a brief moment. I loved him too much to not think about him all the time. I had such an undying desire a strong want to see him again, but I doubted that it would happen, no matter how much my heart wanted it to.

I suppose my heart's desires were heard this time, however, as, while people filed into the house and my rotten owner greeted them, I saw him. He hadn't noticed me yet, but I immediately let go of the door I was supposed to be holding and ran to him. Sure, the door swung into a few idiots Capitolites, but my true love had arrived, and I wasn't going to let him slip away again. For the entire time I was an avox, I didn't even know if they'd given him the same punishment. For all I knew, they could've killed him. I was lucky enough, however, to see that he was still alive. He was a slave an avox like me, so he was certainly suffering, but at least he was alive.

As soon as I reached Evander, he was wrapped in my arms, just as he was supposed to be. He was my love, and I'd finally found him again. No one should have expected me to let him go.

Except she did. 

"Avox!" she shouted at me. I suppose that was too general of a term in a room with so many of us present, however, as many other slaves avoxes looked in her direction, and I intentionally didn't acknowledge her, keeping Evander in my embrace.

"Neith!" she shouted this time, using my name for the first time. I'd never actually heard her call me something even remotely close to my name before. Usually, it was 'slave', 'avox', 'bitch', 'servant' or any other number of things, but she was clearly hilariously irritated angry enough to use my actual name when addressing me this time. Regardless, I still ignored her as she pushed through the crowd, trying to make her way to Evander and I. I didn't move, though. I held onto my love, and I never wanted to release him again.
