justice fray
"Looks like I'm overdressed," I smirk, blinking chlorine from my eyes as we surface.
"You better have a way out of this."
I chuckle, resting my forehead against hers as she scolds. I wrap myself around her, my shirt clinging to my skin, pulling me down, threatening to drag me under. I don't think I'd mind. Not if it meant she'd kiss me like that again.
"Or at least a creative way to keep me warm."
I know her weak points and she sure as hell knows mine. Like kids, the carefree kind with no responsibilities, no scars, hearts still unscathed by the cruelty of life. I can feel my cheeks burning, feel my heart threatening to burst as the water's surface sparkles with the reflection of a thousand stars overhead. And I swear I can see all of my dreams coming true within her eyes.
"There's more than one way I could do that," I breathe, our lips brushing as I speak.
"You know," I grin, pulling away from her. "Like-- forced exercise!"
I cup my hands and send a wave of water in her direction, my laughter echoing through the night as she throws it right back at me. I give in when all I'm doing is spitting and spluttering, when she's close enough for me to latch onto again.
"Or I could build a fire for you," I say with a raise of my brow. "I'm a victor so it'd be a pretty nice fire."
Looking at her makes me dizzy. She's just so--
Beautiful.
I brush the strand of hair stuck to her cheek behind her ear, blinking slowly as I could keep a snapshot of her stowed away against the back of my eyelids. Perfect. Just absolutely perfect.
"I could find us a honeymoon suite," I say. "Champagne, rose petals, candles, a bed the size of an ocean."
I kiss her knuckles, one after the other, holding her gaze as I continue.
"What do you think?"
