He thought that he had a plan going into the bloodbath. However, when it started, the chaotic nature of the fighting gave him multiple punches across his body. After that point, he left. While getting items would have definitely been beneficial, he now has nothing to his name. Well, next to nothing. He has literally nothing to his name other than his life. Aimlessly wandering the arena, he finds himself drawn to the forest. Although not excessively far away, he seriously contemplates whether or not to go. Eventually, he decides that finding potential resources in the area outweighs whatever cons that would be in the forest. Logically thinking about it, trees that are able to grow in such vibrant colors and to such large sizes probably have a water source nearby.
The time it takes for him to eventually reach the woods is negligible. It might have been a couple of minutes to several hours. Honestly, it all depends on a person's definition of what a 'forest' actually is because he is far from the edge of the woods now. While he was lost in thought, all he did was walk, and all the walking that he has done has potentially led him into the center of the woods. Although it is fairly bright, it is eerily quiet, the only noise being leaves rustling in the wind every so often, along with the chirping sounds of colorful birds that are probably mutts. It feels like he is at least several miles away from anyone else at the moment, but it is always possible that they're behind him, waiting for him to let his guard down to ambush him. At the very least, it is comforting to know that it's unlikely for anyone to find him here. Due to their large size, the trees block the human figure well. Hopefully, he won't receive any more bruises, cuts, or any form of bodily injury this far away from the cornucopia.
As he is collecting firewood a bell ringing in the air draws his attention. A parachute with a container is floating down near him. Strangely, it somehow managed to avoid getting caught in any of the foliage before floating down to the ground. He is definitely not complaining. Less work climbing trees to receive a potentially useless item equals a happier Felix. When he opens the container, he is satisfied with the item that is inside. To be honest, he isn't completely sure what its actual use would be, but one end, specifically one edge is definitely sharper than the other. The structure of the item reveals that its function is related to cutting. Leaving the bloodbath with nothing to defend himself with was definitely a large issue, but now he won't die immediately in a fight. Maybe some soul in the Capitol drafted him for fun in one of their betting games, maybe someone just feels sympathetic for him. Whatever the reason was for choosing to sponsor him, he definitely feels grateful.
In several more hours, the sun will be setting and the total number of deaths for the day will be shown in the night sky. Until then, he has several 'wounds' that he attempts to tend to. There isn't much that he can do to fix the bruises that he has, but attempting to do so consumes some of the free time that he now has. Under regular circumstances, he would probably be talking to himself. However, in doing so while in the arena, that could alert any living soul nearby to show up and attack him. Instead, he stays silent, attempting to clean a small area underneath a tree that will be his bed for the night. If he is given a choice between sleeping versus staying up all night, he will definitely choose sleep. As a light sleeper, any noise nearby will wake him up. Besides, he probably won't be able to sleep anyways. Under these circumstances, once again, if he had an ally this wouldn't be an issue, but he stands by his view of alliances eventually equating to betrayal and death.
