The sun sets cotton-candy pink, a curious backdrop for the neon lightshow that follows: a conical silhouette reaches for the sun, catching the last few rays that kiss the horizon. It leaves this place the same way you wish you would: gilded and glimmering.
The sky fades to orange, to purple, to dusky night, and finally to faces.

Only one dead on the first day. That leaves twenty-two other tributes who must meet their ends if you ever want to grow up. Certainly the audience, the Capitol, the Gamemakers, will all be clamoring for your blood. This place may approximate a fairy tale, but you're old enough to know that every fantasyland has its dark side...
