With every ocean wave that rocks him makes the feeling rise in his chest. Blue that extends as far as the eye can see with waves that grow bigger and bigger heading towards the shore. Perfect for the dying love that he carries close to his heart. The water was his home, despite his mother screaming at him that the ocean belongs to no one after the tsunami had destroyed District Four. Worry always on her lips as he just grew closer and closer to the ocean's embrace. The smell of saltwater in the air as he huffs out a breath of it and pushes forward once more.
Like the ocean waves, he's always been calling to the ocean for his heart belonged there. Arms breeze through the water with ease as he pushes himself along with the board that is stabilizing him. Up and up through the water, until he gets to the top. Balancing was the hardest part, but for him, he's spent days perfecting his form and making sure his board and him could ride along the waves. Out here, no one could remind him of the words that the kid, Nemo Krearns had said to him. Weak. Not good enough. Atlas will never be a career, but he didn't need to be one in order to enjoy the waves of the sea.
The ocean crashes as he rides the wave down until the water soothes out and he's back on shore for a moment, catching his breath and letting his heart lower down to a normal level. Board partly in the sand, standing up as he leans against it with his back. Sand scratching his back gently, but his eyes are caught on another person. Another person with a board of the dying breed. A surfboard of his own in the guy's grasp and Atlas can't help but watch, until the guy grew closer, probably from walking down this way and not to see him. Atlas admires his board from a short distance, until he decides to speak up.
"Hey dude! Nice board!"
