Was anyone seen the greatest movie yet??
Well if you haven't you really should! Inception was incredible! But I want to talk about the ending.

Basically I want to hear your opinion on the ending. I saw the movie opening night, and i thought I had the ending all solved...until people kept pushing all their different opinions on me. Now I can't stop thinking about it. There are so many different theories out there, and I wanted to hear yours. And today I heard this really interesting theory.

Cobb was in Mal's dream the entire time. I know strange right? Well there was evidence to back it up. Such as the totem. It was Mal's totem, and it's one totem per person.

Personally, I think he is still in limbo. Remember Mal said that he was able to see his children faces in the dream if he wanted to. And if you pay close attention to the end, everyone is staring at him. Plus his kids didn't age and were in the same clothes.

What's your opinion?

Except for the ending. That's still driving me crazy

I think, however, that due to the fact that the top was wobbling (about to fall) he was in reality.

It a great movie! I wanted to believe that but just can't.
What I really think is that cobb was being incepted by saito.

Evidence: 1) Saito tells him, "Just like Inception" and plants the idea of Cobb finally going home in Cobb's head. 2) Very conveniently Saito's there at the place where he meets the Forger, hinting that Saito might already have had a talk with him himself. 3) The scene where they visit the chemist and Cobb tries out the ultra-dream-RDX: once he's awake, he begins to spin the top but Saito interrupts and Nolan doesn't let us know whether the top would have spun. This is the only time when Cobb's (apparently) returned to reality and the top not spinning has not been shown. Inference: Saito put Cobb in a dream-state in that chemist shop, where the rest of the movie took place, Saito and the remaining crew got to know how to execute the whole plan of Robert's inception, and Saito also took care of Cobb's 'returning home' problem by making him believe that he did.

I think I may be looking into it too much, but whatever.

Ok two theories:

1) the first one is taking the movie at face value and taking that what they tell you is real and what they tell you is a dream is just that. It seems many people find this a hard thing back (especially with the evidence that suggests otherwise) but it's the only one where you're going to have all the answers. It's also a big step, because it's not really believing that he's in the real world at the end it's accepting that it doesn't matter.

2) Cobb was bargaining for the chemical basement not his family. He's accepted the fact that he's never returning home and instead turns himself in at the end, it's somewhat unrealistic to believe someone has the power to call off the hunt for a fugitive now matter how rich they are. They take Cobb to prison, but Saito has used his influence in a more believable way to have him imprisoned in his own mind as well letting him live out his life how he always wanted.
