cb for not being reaped
you had to accept that your life would never be your own. everyday, every second of every minute somebody was dictating your life. it didn't matter that you wanted to have your own life, opinions and wants in the districts meant nothing. you had to face that you wouldn't be a princess, that you wouldn't live in a lavish mansion with a beautiful wife. so since your words didn't matter you took happiness in silence.
silence was golden, the sweetest apple from the orchards. you can remember when your mother first took you to those orchards you so tirelessly work in with the other district eleven citizens. it was a hot day, sun beating down on you. you smiled at all the food, something you soon learned you would never have. just another thing that was dictated in your life.
curly brown hair falling down caramel skin, hand-me-down book in hand and light purple lips remain thin and sealed. you took comfort in the silence, but also in the words written in books. they hugged the parts of you that nobody else could. they hugged the parts of you that you thought were taken away by the capitol. but reading and writing gave you a voice, it gave you a purpose.
and that purpose was to finally dictate your own life. to break free of the chains that restrict your life. you wouldn't be like everyone else and die a life you wish you could have changed. you will be something, you want to die knowing you tried to change your destiny.
