80th Candidate Cove Merrick [D4]

When I was approached by a Peacekeeper, before any words were spoken, my heart skipped a beat. The last time I'd been nearby a Peacekeeper was five years ago when I was escorted by one to the Justice Building where I'd say goodbye to Lightning and Chaos. It had been a heart-wrenching moment, and all of it came flooding back when I saw that white uniform a little too close to me. My mind started to calm down, however, when I realized what it had been that he wanted. He just wanted to know why I'd endorsed Cove Merrick for mayor. I responded rather quickly, because I knew exactly why.

"Hope," I said in a matter-of-fact tone. "He wants to bring back the hope we once had as a District. Annie winning the 80th Games and Wander coming back alive as well may have helped a little bit in doing that, but I believe that Cove can help us the rest of the way. I trust him, and I believe in what he can do." I looked the Peacekeeper in the eyes, hoping that he knew how strongly I felt about this. We needed the hope we once had, and Cove Merrick may just help us get that back again.
