Mace Emberstatt is a good man.
With that said, Kennedy still was going to try and take his office. Why? He still didn't exactly know. Nothing else changed for him in these past five years since Riven's death, except it got easier. Easier to live with this pain, despite the 80th reigniting his desire of missing her once more. Temple Jones and Enzo Pevak got to live, but his sister remains in a stone grave. Dead with her hopes and dreams.
Why was he running?
Kennedy still didn't know that for himself, but he did know what I wanted to do for Ten.
"Hello again District Ten! As many of you know, I am Kennedy Fowley and ran for mayor five year ago. During that time of five years, I have worked with both Willow and Mace to make District Ten great."
A friendly smile as he feels himself questioning why he's standing before them once more. Riven wouldn't mind if he didn't run. Jasper would think he's insane for putting himself through this again.
"As many of you know, last time that I stood here was after losing my sister Riven in the 75th Hunger Games. Since then, things have been different and I think District Ten needs me to continue on this path that Mace had built. I'm not here to make empty promises, but I am here as someone all of you know from experience and a friend to all citizens of Ten." Pause. "Ten still has a massive amount of work to do with our environment that I want to tackle personally. A system that would be created in order to keep District Ten as gorgeous as it is. I will personally work endlessly to do this. We were born onto this land where it gave us what we needed to live and it's our duty as citizens to take care of it like it takes care of us."
Breath. The voice in his head reminds him. The small amount of sweat on his forehead as the sun beating over him making him remember how dry Ten really is.
"It's up to you citizens to pick who you believe to be the right choice for mayor. Anyone would do a good job up here if they have the right mindset for the job. I want to make District Ten feel like a community again. Where people look out for their neighbors once more. We are the people who will create the next generation and leave behind a legacy to them. I want to help build this legacy by giving our next generation the opportunity to build onto this legacy. I want us to help build this district up to a new level of prosperity."
Nerves building in his chest as looks back to the people.
"We will be the legacy of District Ten. Our people need help and I want to be that help. If you would like to give me a chance, vote Kennedy Fowley for Mayor."
