I can't do this.

He reaches for a newspaper trying to keep up with the world around him. The district is facing so many problems, and all he wants is a chance to reach in and fix them, but may it's best if he just went away and disappeared forever. Maybe it's time he withdrew from the race. Nobody would want someone like himself in control of the disitrct - Sammy would simply ruin everything like he's done every single day of his life.

Downcast eyes dart through the articles trying to take it all in. His campaign is failing, and right now he wants nothing more than to pretend none of this ever happened. Does he risk ruining his name anymore, or will Sammy carry on like he always has.

He's a fighter. The odds have been against him his entire life, yet he never gave up. Why give up now when the going is tough? He started out on a mission, and Sammy wants to finish it no matter what happens, but what if it means living a life of riducle? Not that it's any different than his life now. People will always find a reason to ruin his life.

But what do I do?

Being in the center of attention isn't exactly his strong point, and Sammy knows that, but right now he needs to take a moment and relax.

Just breathe. You got this.

It's a thought that keeps him going, but right now his world is crumbling, and for the first time in a long time, Sammy isn't sure what he can do to stop it.

What have I got myself into?

He throws the pen on the ground. It's no use. Nothing will ever make up for the path he's taken, and Sammy isn't ready for the fallout of it all. Many times during life, he's challenged himself, but none have been this difficult. Talon is a strong individual, and he knows he'll never compare to her. He'll never have the same desires are her, and he'll always be an ant beneath her shoe.

Running against her is the stupidest decision he's ever made, but he had to try.

Just a few month ago, Sammy vowed to step out of his comfort zone to make a difference in the lives of those who need a hand, but right now he's drowning. He's falling deeper and deeper into the abyss below the ocean to a point where nobody can save him.

Each breath is a pain, and he's rocking himself back and forth trying to find a life where the world can shine through, but the depth is too far down, and he's reached a point of no return unless someone acts quick.

But who am I kidding?

Nothing good will ever come of this. It's just a scam to push people away. To change their lives while nobody gives them a second thought, but Sammy realizes this now. He's trying to grow up too fast, and he's unsure of which direction the wind is blowing.

News articles scatter across the floor, and he brings himself to his knees gently crawling from the chair. Each one gives him a sense of hope, but the next one only takes it away. This was a mistake. Running is a mistake, and right now he wants to give up and call it quits.

But that's what everyone is hoping for.

Might as well just give in and go on with the rest of his life while he still has a chance. The world will move on leaving him behind. Maybe when he's older he'll stand a chance. Maybe when life comes to a screeching halt, but until then Sammy has no business being in charge.

It would've been better had he realized this before stepping into the spotlight for everyone to see the fool he truly is.

They'll just eat me alive.

He's just a kid locked away with the rest of the world with nobody to guide him home. All it takes is a simple moment, and a chance to bring the world back to reality. War isn't his strong suit, and it's not something he desires. They'll devour him, and Sammy wants nothing to do with any of that. All it takes is a moment of trying to stay alive.

Just breathe.

Yet his head is falling beneath the waters, and the word is leaving him to drown with his own sorrows. It's foolish to think a blind man could guide the rest of the district through the world without any problems, but it's something he works for each and every day.

Many may not believe him now, and they may never believe him.

All it takes is pulling himself out of the waters, but the waters are sucking him in. It's a strange moment of life, and he's calling for help.

But the only help he'll ever get is from himself since it seems nobody truly cares.
