I am starting to see stars and moons
(it's an awful sham, but I follow suit)
This is how it ends, a courageous boom

There weren’t clocks on the training center floor, and Saturn supposed that this was by design. His training gym had the same philosophy back in one, where time was told by the position of the sun (which was quite counterintuitive for anyone that needed to do business with a career, but that was a different issue entirely). Saturn had spent plenty of weeks in his life rising before the sun, hitting the treadmill before grinding out another day lifting weights, sparring, and finishing with a hot steam. By the time he was on the street again, the stars were up overhead, and he was ready to collapse into bed.
His work ethic, however, had dropped off sharply as of late. Far more interested in learning about the other tributes, he cast a wide net across the floor of the training center, heading to stations that he had no business in (plants? what the fuck did he need to learn about ferns for?) so that he would make sure that he had every opportunity to introduce himself. It’d started with Berlin (he was still smarting from that), and wound its way through the brigade of eligible boys. At least, the ones who’d managed to make a lasting impression (and weren’t too young).
When the sun was high and he’d exhausted himself on the climbing wall, Saturn took his sweaty body to the locker room alongside the entrance to change. He was starving, and determined it had to be between one and two (mostly because the locker room had one of those digital clocks with red numbers). He took a few steps before spying he was not alone.
He didn’t think much of Stanley at all – or at least, not since seeing his seeing the reaping footage. Damaris shone bright, and had caught his attention but, he barely registered the scrawny young man existed. But maybe that was some sort of mistake? Even the smaller ones could prove useful, and were fun in the way that a boy like Stanley would likely do as he was told.
Saturn started by opening one of the lockers and stripping off his shirt because of course. He glanced every so often at Stanley, and after a moment, cleared his throat.
“Eight. You know, I’ve been watching you…” Saturn closed the locker and propped his arm against it. He gave a grin. “I don’t know if I should say it, but Damaris was saying how great you were and, I thought I would introduce myself.” It was a lie, utterly untrue that he’d ever been brought up. But they had to start somewhere. “She was saying that you might be able to tell me a bit about living in eight… I thought… well, we might be able to get to know one another a bit better.”
