I'm running, and I don't know where to go. Everything looks the same, but at the same time, I'm stuck trying to figure out a safe place to hide. It's hard to breathe, hard to think when all I can hear is the sound of my heart beat echoing through my skull. Eyes dart back and forth as I try listening for any sound coming from any direction, but I haven't heard a cannon or anything, so maybe the bloodbath is still going on. My tongue is dry, and it's sticking to the roof of my mouth, and it's very much too early for that to happen. I can figure it out later once I'm safe though. I ran from the bloodbath, and I know I'll look weak, but I just hope my mentors can help me and not leave me hanging.
I stop for a moment placing my hands on my knees. I just need a moment to take a breath. A chance to really figure things out. I want to keep going, but I don't know what to do. My lungs are hurting. My chest is tight. Everything is aching, and I just want to lay down right here in the middle of the arena and pretend I'm in a safe place, but when a cannon sounds, I take off running even faster. I can't stop now because that means the bloodbath is open. I run left then turn right, and I'm zig zagging through the arena unsure of where I am or what to even do at this moment. I just keep running hoping that I'll come out somewhere. Being alone is terrifying, but it's better than having allies and having to kill them.
I stop again, and this time I sit down on the ground. My head is spinning, and I need a break. I can run more later when everything is calmed down. My stomach is growling, and it doesn't help that I'm stuck in the middle of this godforsaken place. There's nothing good here, and knowing that someone is dead hurts my heart. As I hang my head, I hear a parachute falling from the sky. For a moment, I am afraid and wondering if anyone else is in the area. I carefully slide over to the parachute keeping my head low, and when I see my name, I nearly start crying. They do care, and I'm here to fight. I hope they're treating Ari well. I just hope that I don't see her face in the sky. That'll break me more than anything. I kiss the parachute then turn my eyes towards the sky "Thank you." It's silent, but I'm sure they'll understand.
