[/li] Brentley is arrested for the murders, and then released when Scarlet lies and claims she saw Carolina push Alphonse off the balcony, and that Carolina had attacked her and then disappeared. As no one could ever find Carolina, she is believed to still remain at large and even made the PK Top 10 Most Wanted list. Brentley was released, Mateus got away, and Scarlet got her fortune. A win for all three, the way she saw it.s u m m a r y
Lancelot Black was a powerful man by anyone's definition. All together, he owned more than half the successful businesses in District Four, ranging from restaurants to bait shops. At one point, the district had grown accustomed to the things he sold; he made such good money overall that he was able to lower his prices, making him more accessible to all of the District.
But, alas, as powerful as he was, so was he equally a hermit. The more wealthy he became, the smaller his need to leave the sprawling islet his mansion was on grew. He had more than what he needed, and he'd never been particularly keen on socializing outside of a good business opportunity. Besides, if ever he did find himself feeling lonely, there were workers and servants by the boatload he could reach out to.
It wasn't until he got sick that he realized none of it mattered. Not if there was no one for him to share it with. He'd never married, never had any children that he knew of: hell, he hadn't even trained anyone to take over for him should something happen.
He'd always had a flare for the dramatic, and he was a man who enjoyed an unlikely outcome. This was why he invited the twelve to come and live with him. This is why he sat them down and explained to them that, should he last long enough, everything he had would belong to one of them after a period of one year.t i m e l i n e

- DECEMBER 30th:A storm hits the islet in the middle of winter. All waterways are estimated to be closed for at least a week.
- JANUARY 2nd: While rummaging through Lancelot's desk, one of the interns stumbles upon his last will and testament. Outraged that the fortune is going to Blanche, the intern tosses the will into the fire and begins to plan a way to twist the hands of fate.

SUMMER: twelve hopefuls arrive at the Nox Estate, ready to begin a year-long internship where they will each be taught the tricks of the trade. At the end of the internship, Malcolm Nox will select one person from this group to become heir to his tycoon business upon his death or retirement, and will have a high-ranking position until such an occasion arises.
AUTUMN: the interns are well into their training when things begin to heat up, rivalries and friendships alike are formed. Some, it would seem, would do anything to get the prize.
WINTER: when the politics of the internship come into play, alliances are forced, and people begin playing directly against one another. Some have found their footing and are off to a flying start, while others who are less than ideal, start to let the pressure get to them.
SPRING: After Malcolm asks the survivors to choose 3 interns who will be immediately sent home, things take a turn for the worst. By morning, Malcolm Nox is found dead in his office. A lockdown is triggered, as is protocol, but huge storm hits the estate, malfunctioning the security system and rendering the survivors within trapped with no way of escape.
