The uniform for the 82nd Games is soft.
Layers of clothing are slowly draped onto your frame — your stylist takes a moment to look at the harmony of the ensemble: neutral thick knits hang next to swaths of richly patterned silk. A long cloak contains a tapestry, rich embroidery inscribing unknown mythology.
The detailing is hand-crafted and personal, as if the fabrics and finishings have been upcycled from well-loved clothing someone else outgrew, but refused to waste. Perhaps mismatched buttons have been collaged together to create an eclectic design or varied pieces of material might be interwoven to patch evidence of a worn spot with equal parts ingenuity and beauty.
Each look is different, unique, but brought together with magnetic boots that grip to the ground, the walls, the ceiling with confidence. A smooth watch is affixed to your wrist, the facade etched with your District ID. If you run your hand above the panel, the screen lights up with a brilliant gold.
Your garb is warm, but unyielding. Whatever its purpose, there's the inkling that it's not quite right for a gladiator match.
Members may choose what items their tributes wear, as long as they contain multiple (many) layers, magnetic boots and a sleek watch. Uniforms are neutral tones, with a district-specific color palette as an accent (created with natural dyes - there is vibrancy, but no artificial neon).

WATCHES
The watches will serve several important IC functions:
- Keycard: Holding the watch to the keypad at an airlock separating two areas will unlock it once per day (twice per day if a tribute has taken the endurance station). Additional attempts will result in an ACCESS DENIED message. Tributes must move through airlocks one person at a time, scanning for access individually. The same system is used to gain access to a tribute’s space suit in the Cable Bridge area, preventing anyone from tampering with a rival’s potential protection from the outside cold.
- Communication: Watches are programmed with a communication system similar to Slack, with a projected holographic screen. All tributes have access to a #general chat by default, within which all messages will be publicly available to all tributes in real time. Tributes who participate in the pre-Games interview event will receive a watch upgrade, allowing them to create private chat groups and send one-on-one messages.
- Anthems: Each night the anthem will be projected via a 3D hologram from each tribute’s watch.
- Navigation: Tributes will have access to a holographic map. Initially this will only include data for the Cornucopia (Beam Chamber). As your tribute encounters a new area, the data for that location will be unlocked and added to their map.
DISTRICT COLORS
One: millennial pink and soft rose, berries & cream, rose gold and white lace, frost-nipped cheeks in the snow
Two: robust vermillion, burnt sienna and scarlet lacquer on clay, warm umber and dark granite, the red sun’s warning over a dark sea
Three: cured salmon atop a rice bed, peach skin and persimmon, clownfish yawning in their anemones, flames crackling at dawn
Four: fresh-cut mango, marigolds in an open field, a drifting sea of wheat, the sun at its apex
Five: imperfect pears heavy with juice, olives on a cheese plate, mint lemonade, dappled light through the treetops - turning the leaves citrine
Six: Moss growing freely along the coastline, cucumbers sliced and pickled for half a day, the leftover remnants of flower clippings, a cup of green tea - slowly steeping
Seven: the forest’s leaves as winter approaches, the matte finish of a robin’s egg, veins branching under skin, willows along the shallows
Eight: cornflowers & bluebells, shadows amid the sun-lit snow, dandelions floating in the breeze, the horizon-line on a cloudless day
Nine: peacocks and blue velvet, blackberries plucked from the bush, tints of denim from azure to indigo
Ten: lavender and periwinkle, blueberry jam mixed into yogurt, an abundance of lilacs
Eleven: fuschia and beets, peonies in a bouquet, the skin of a dragonfruit
Twelve: shades of coal, with fool’s gold accents
