The train rattled more than he'd expected, a vibration in his bones. It wasn't totally unpleasant, as so many sensations were. He could almost lean into it - yes, just like that. Fall asleep. So, that was one less worry. He'd get his sleep, even forgoing the careful setup he had at home. That was important. Sleep. Sustenance. A weapon (which he would be trained how to use). That's all he needed.
That, and probably, unfortunately, some advice.
He stared at Victor Krigel, less impressed with him in person than he had been from the videos (a low bar to clear). After a good thirty seconds of close scrutiny, he turned his attention to Annie. The spread of treats in the dining car remained untouched between them. He wasn't going to ruin himself on sweets; it was all proteins and carbs from here.
"So, are we just assuming Harper is going to win because she's a Career, or is there some wiggle room for me?"
