#82TH-GENERAL AND PRIVATE MESSAGINGWatches are programmed with a communication system similar to Slack, with a projected holographic screen. All tributes have access to a #general chat by default, within which all messages will be publicly available to all tributes in real time. Tributes who participate in the pre-Games interview event will receive a watch upgrade, allowing them to create private chat groups and send one-on-one messages.
#82th-general will be the official Slack channel for in-character watch communication. It will be opened for use following the conclusion of the bloodbath and the GMs will moderate this channel OOC. Only 82th tributes may comment/react in this channel, although all site members are welcome to join and spectate. All comments/reacts must be IC and will be saved into an official Games thread via copy/paste or screenshots. OOC comments and/or comments by non-tributes will be deleted. There will be a new thread for each Games day, started by a GM following the posting of the Anthem, but any site member may assist with saving the transcripts of #82th-general conversations.
In-Character slack messages should be formatted as such:
<name>: <content>
Tributes who have received a watch upgrade may create private chat groups and send one-on-one messages. These conversations should be posted in a Games thread by the participating tributes. If actual group chats are created on the site Slack for this purpose, please add the GMs for Games moderation purposes. Alternatively, it is acceptable to simply thread out private messages in standard site post form.
Abuse of this communication system (such as IC drama creating OOC drama or vice versa, as well as anything that violates Games rules or general site rules) will result in privileges being revoked, in addition to the potential of a Red Card penalty. Please be inclusive and respectful of one another. Any concerns should be brought to the GMs — our priority is to give everyone as much writing freedom as possible, so long as that freedom does not come at another member’s expense.
Most of all: Have fun!
